So I am having issues getting a two track island platform to function....
It can't be the assets I'm using, as I placed temporary test platforms further down the line (same invisible loft platform, same offset, same track), these have passengers waiting, and an AI train will open doors there.
I then rebuilt the track, thinking it was a ribbon issue of some sort - still not fixed.
Then rebuilt the same track layout in another test route - The platforms in there work!!
Any idea what the issue could be??

Re: Station Platform Issue
Just to understand the problem, when you stop a train,do the carriage doors open ? If they don't then this must mean that the presence of the platform is not recognised. Or is it that you have no waiting passengers on the platform ? It would be as well to check that you have not accidentally set a zero passenger density first of all.
If you have a reasonable passenger density then not much help to you I know, but I don't think that you will ever find out what is wrong. If you were to delete everything and replaced it again I expect it would all work, as you have shown by using the same assets elsewhere.
If it was me, I would try the following:-
1) delete the platform and put another copy of the platform in place. Very easy if you are using the offset tool to align the platform to the track. Check to see if it works, if not then
2) break the trackwork either side of the platform and delete the track running alongside the platform. Replace the track, again this will be easy since if you remove only one section then another single section of certain length and curvature will fit. Check to see if that works, if not then
3) as a last resort you will have to remove the trackwork for some distance either side of the platform. This will mean a lot more work to replace it, particularly if there is any point work involved.

Re: Station Platform Issue
Thanks for the reply,
Passengers don't appear on the platform loft in this location, and nor do the train doors open (AI or player).
Unfortunately, I have previously tried all of the above. (and yes it was a complex pointwork setup to rebuild too)
Really frustrating tbh, even more so how it worked once when I made a short section at one end of the platform area, then started extending this, for it to stop working, and then couldn't even get that short bit to work again :/

Re: Station Platform Issue
So is the platform one single section, or is it made of several sections that have been joined together ? This might do it.
Just trying to think of possible reasons, but is the platform edge too far away from the track ? I always use the offset tool to make platforms the correct distance away from and parallel to the track.
And it might be as well to have a look at the 2D map, zoom to the area concerned and check to see that your station marker is recognised.

Yeah one single section, and always use the offset tool, using the same distance for each location. Just this one location where it doesn't work :S
As for the platform marker, yep that works - AI drives to it, and shows in 2D map and on the bottom GUI thingimijig.

Re: Station Platform Issue
How about adopting a cunning plan, place an invisible platform loft over your platform.
This will give you some permanent passengers walking about on the platform, but they won't board your train when it stops. This will account for the carriage doors not opening, they are all waitng for another train !
Could you try this ?
