One is relating to the track. When in the editor and using the space bar most of the track around Euton shows as 'Missing Texture' and when investigated there is no trackrule shown and all settings are 'unchanged'? I have all the required assets selected (and double checked via RW_Tools) and confirmed the required texture files are present so I am baffled why they are 'missing'?!
Other little goodies centre around South Hampstead. Speed limits and trackrules are in abundance there
Not bashing this route at all but would love to be able to drive it without so much swapping of assets etc. etc.. Realise this is WIP but at the moment is 'difficult' to evaluate

As requested -photons66 wrote:And please ask questions relating to problems here, it's what it's here for.
There are others btw.Questions/Observations as posted by me in the 'Comments' for the UKTS File 34101:

Sorry about all this message traffic but I am desperatley trying to get the best out of this route?!! In the folder Assets\photons66\WCML\RailNetwork\TrackRules there are two files, Sieg_Hage_Main_MPH.bin & Sieg_Hage_Yard_MPH.bin. Neither seem to appear in any of the provided files, .bin or otherwise?
09 Apr 2015 11:34:19
TIP: To reduce the number of scenery files by over 1400 there is no need to include the *.cost or *.tgt files as they are not required. Doesn't save a lot of space but good housekeeping!
09 Apr 2015 11:23:04
When in the editor and pressing the 'space bar' does all the track show as 'no texture'? Also there are is no track data for a lot of the time (Track Rule, ballast, electrics etc.)??? Checked the RouteProperties.xml and it looks like all the likely candiates are in there as far as asset folders go.
09 Apr 2015 10:57:31
... talking of activities, it may be a good idea to path all the required stock to where the providers put then rather than your own? RW_Tools hasn't been so busy for a while {vbg}

In previous versions the speeds were all over the pLace and corrected by a patch. Just started the IW37 scenario and (having driven over the platform end!) found the speeds go from 5 to 25 to 125 and then 40 in a very short distance. Also got sea-sick going over the bumps LOL.

Scenario IG31 - anyone suceeded in starting this without an edit message; continualy blocked by LM stock way up the line for me?! Other scenarios have similar problems.

I use RWInfo to display my routes - any particular reason this will not?

Another gem - thought I would check the speeds at Euston against the Network Rail 'london north western south sectional appendix' which to the 0.43Ch should all be 25mph - most of the platforms are set to 110mph; beware below!!!!!

I can't help but think that whilst the developer of this route may well be happy to receive notification of issues/problems, there is an awful lot of negativity being shown from the community towards a project which has clearly had an awful lot of work put in to it, this may not be intentional from most members, however there are ways and means of bringing problems to the attention of people.

Andy, 'beta' testing in public can sometimes be brutal to achieve results - being 'cruel' to be kind is sometimes necessary to get a point across but it is NEVER meant as a critisism if the developer wishes to have a true (as is possible with TS!) representation. I am sure that our man here will take it as constructive and move on to better things?atlasduff47 wrote:I can't help but think that whilst the developer of this route may well be happy to receive notification of issues/problems, there is an awful lot of negativity being shown from the community towards a project which has clearly had an awful lot of work put in to it, this may not be intentional from most members, however there are ways and means of bringing problems to the attention of people.Andy
Obviously there is the other option - keep it private with a team of testers then release a workable route?
Just my ten pence worth
[btw, have you tried the route?]

Re: WCML London and Midlands
There's a very fine line between constructive criticism and nit-picking, and exactly where that lies is something that none of us will agree upon!
The idea of a team of testers/fixers was suggested shortly after the route's release, but could be seen as akin to taking photons' work off him.
The decision to assemble a team along those lines has to come from photons himself, to take the project in the direction he wants.

Then PM him with any details of any bother/problems you have had/found with his route instead of publicly beta testing his route on this forum (and pulling it to bits in the process).Traveller54 wrote:Andy, 'beta' testing in public can sometimes be brutal to achieve results - being 'cruel' to be kind is sometimes necessary to get a point across but it is NEVER meant as a critisism if the developer wishes to have a true (as is possible with TS!) representation. Until an official patch for this patch appears---to remove the extraneous point levers, a quick *fix* is simply to drop into the World Editor, select a lever and sink it below ground level.

Note for the faint-hearted: this route installs without particular difficulty for me - and I don't have asset problems. Yes, there are a few glitches - but they're being ironed out. I think that Photon66 has provided us with an excellent route here. So THANK YOU!
is the main thing I want to say...
Note for Traveller54: I can see this route in RW_Info; do you perhaps have an installation fault?
Kind regards,
John M

I happen to think that being cruel is being cruel, the same outcome can be achieved by constructive dialogue without derision.Traveller54 wrote:Andy, 'beta' testing in public can sometimes be brutal to achieve results - being 'cruel' to be kind is sometimes necessary to get a point across but it is NEVER meant as a critisism if the developer wishes to have a true (as is possible with TS!) representation. I have downloaded the route, and any issues I find will be communicated directly with the developer, if I feel that any amendment could be beneficial to the developer/route.

For the record, I'm not offended by Traveller54's comments but what he has to remember is that this can ALWAYS be improved as has been proven by me withdrawing the original file to incorporate the auto point additions. I have also noted Traveller54's comments so anything else, a PM or on here would be fine.
Just as long as you leave the emotive nonsense out and keep errors and bugs to factual findings, then I have no problem.
Thanks one and all for downloading it in the first place.

Fair enough, great route by the way, thank you for making it available to the community!photons66 wrote:For the record, I'm not offended by Traveller54's comments but what he has to remember is that this can ALWAYS be improved as has been proven by me withdrawing the original file to incorporate the auto point additions. I bet I could cause one.......or several!!photons66 wrote: and keep errors and bugs to factual findings, then I have no problem.
To be more constructive, would a list of known errors/glitches with the route---lets leave scenarios out of it for now--posted in here allow those with the necessary skills/motivation/time to have a look at the ones they think they could fix, and if successful be able to pass the information or revised files to photons, and also amend the list so that the same issue isn't fixed many times?
