There well be no Unreal version of TS this year, just the usual upgrade.

Also in the link above is mentioned by Martin of DTG, that they are investigating the TS2015 menu system after all the bad reports about it.

Wasn't it stated by DTG around the time of the upgrade to TS2015 that the Unreal version would not be the next incarnation of the game? As far as I'm aware it's only been the *rumour mill* and user expectations that has promoted the belief that 'TS2016' would be based on the Unreal engine.

Indeed. But rumors grow and grow until everyone believes them to be true news.

Whether or not it's Unreal, the two things I'd like to see fixed in the next version are the "green sea horizon", and the "white hills" problems with the scenery on some routes.

I've used that white hills fix. Works very well. Also the fix for the menus.
There's plenty of old bugs still left ignored by DTG that they could concentrate on this year without tampering with the stuff that does work.

Yes I've installed that fix from Richard but I haven't tried it on all my routes yet. But one it doesn't work on is the Woodhead, and it's difficult NOT to see the snowy-white Pennines on that route!

My point as regards this thread is that routes like that which are routes from the TS2015 Steam store, shouldn't suffer from glaring faults like this, and I can at least hope that they are fixed officially by DTG in the next release.

I've not been on Woodhead recently. I'll have a look.

The menu system in TS2015 did not live up to the standards we had aimed for and although it was positively received by some TS players many people didn't like the new design choices. Since the release of TS2015 we have been listening to all the feedback from the community and closely analysing the way in which people use the menus.

We are now working on a series of updates to the menu system which includes a separate system for accessing and rating workshop scenarios. We can confirm that the first of these updates will be available in open within the next few months and that we will be releasing all of these changes as updates rather than holding them back for the release of TS2016 later in the year.

YEH ! Result - The first really honest comment Ive heard in a long time - Well done DTG

Woodhead doesn't look too good I'm afraid. I had a lot of trouble with white hills on the Hagen-Siegen v3 route which are fixed .
Also Newcastle-Edinburgh which I must check.
I hope we can still revert to the 2014 menu if their fix is not much improvement.

I for one was not expecting an Unreal version of TS this year. Next year maybe?

I think next year either.
To date, they have not yet shown us not one single screenshot of the development (if they are developing something). Image
