how do I enable TrackIR in latest version of TS?
Hello all,
As I read in the patch upgrade, TrackIR is now supposed to be fully supported, but how do I actually enable TrackIR in TS2015? Unlike in OMSI2, I don't see any TrackIR enable button in the settings. So I went down the route of FSX whereby you start the sim, then tab out to the desktop and open up TrackIR from the shortcut, then TrackIR registers FSX is running and then it works.
I tried this with TS15 and it doesn't do anything. Has anyone else got this to work yet?

Have the TrackIR software running first and then load up the game and it should work.

Tried that, nothing

I'm still having the same problem and have reverted to JSJ's workaround for now. Be interested to know if others have the same issue.

Re: how do I enable TrackIR in latest version of TS?
I have it working just fine.
On the TrackIR screen, use the Update option on the menu bar, then select "check for game updates". It should then find TS2015. Restart TrackIR and open the Profiles tab - you should see "Dovetail Games Train Simulator 2015". Make sure TrackIR is running before you start TS2015. I use the same profile as I do for Microsoft FSX, so I set it to load my flight profile as an exclusive load.
Cheers, Martin

I think this kind of thing is a try before you buy. About 7 years ago I tried some 3D glasses, couldn't get rid of them quick enough. About 6 of us tried them and only 1 person liked them.

You won't regret it... Standby for a step change in realism when you get it, you'll wonder how you ever drove without it. TrackIR is as close as you can get to actually being in the cab. Freedom of movement and enables you to drive as a real driver would... eyes on the track ahead with quick and instant glances down to check gauges etc. You can check a gauge or look sideways and have your eyes back on the track in under a second, literally as instantaneous as it is in real life. Can you imagine driving your car with your head locked in a brace and having to click, hold and manipulate a mouse if you want to look around?Ajay1 wrote:Just been reading this thread and thinking "WiII I won't I , will I won't I". Re: how do I enable TrackIR in latest version of TS?
Yes, but I for one find TrackIR an absolute necessity! The ability to quickly glance about in the cab and head-out view (it doesn't operate in helicopter view) really does add a great deal to the immersion factor. It does take a bit of setting up and getting used to but it's worth it IMHO. I'm no gaming kid either, just gone 63!Trev123 wrote:I think this kind of thing is a try before you buy. So don't be put off Agay1.

Well if your a true simulation fan and your after a high level of realism in the simulations you play then you'll be very glad your brought one.Ajay1 wrote:Just been reading this thread and thinking "WiII I won't I , will I won't I". Re: how do I enable TrackIR in latest version of TS?
Well, after a few days of my initial posting here on this topic I received my TrackIR 5 Pro and have finally got round to installing it now. I followed as instructed above to make sure that Dovetail Games TS2015 was listed in the Titles Profiles listing, started TrackIR first, then TS2015,once TS2015 was up and running I went into the cab and the view I was getting was somewhat at an angle.ie: my head is in a vertical position but the view I was getting was on an angle.
I did start it up and use straight out of the box so to speak, is there some preliminary settings and options that have to be made for the views to appear correctly ? Could someone please advise what I should be adjusting so that when I turn my head left and right ,up and down,forward and back the same is happening inside the cab.
Many thanks.
Antony.

You shouldn't really need to adjust anything, but just press F12 to centre view if on the wonk when you first go into cab view, should be OK then.Ajay1 wrote:the view I was getting was somewhat at an angle.ie: my head is in a vertical position but the view I was getting was on an angle.

F12 = centre view
F9 = pause TIR

Thanks both of you, will give that a go and see what happens. Maybe read through the manual and see if anythings amiss.
