Re: Class 156 problem
Which unit were you using? If it's the class 156, it would appear to be a bug with the unit

Re: Class 156 problem
Class 156 is buggy. I have problems with it. This is the older version as used on the Settle Carlisle route. Headlights don't work only tail lights.

Re: Class 156 problem
I've been regularly having this problem (crashing while unloading passengers) on a few different routes.
I tried saving and re-loading before reaching the offending station. It would unload ok at the previous offending station, but as soon as I stopped / unloaded at the next station, it crashed again. If I kept saving, this process would repeat at the next one and so on. It was happening on a few scenarios, some were default scenarios that came with the 156 DLC (I think).
I eventually gave up, deleted most of the 156 scenarios, and don't bother with this train, except as an AI.

It's a 158 that's bundled with settle-Carlisle Trev, you have a completely different problem there that has been mentioned in the forums before. A fix was suggested; it involves editing the light switch control in the .bin files for the driving cars but I can't put my finger on it right now: I'll keep looking though.
EDIT: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 82967beb0f
I'm surprised you still have the problem as you contributed to that thread,

Re: Class 156 problem
Just had this last night testing a scenario. Was the Oovee 156 with saltire reskin, no sound pack installed.
It was AI traffic and one thing I did notice, was that just before the crash, as the unit was approaching the platform, the doors were open long before it stopped. It may have even been like that since leaving the previous station. Then as soon as it stopped, bang...
Restarted the sim and tried exactly the same thing again with no issues!

Re: Class 156 problem
I’ve found a workaround, I’ve tested it over a dozen times so I know it works.
If you stop at a station earlier than the scheduled arrival time, wait ten seconds before opening the doors.
Also, if you have just opened the scenario wait ten seconds before opening the doors.
This also works on saved scenarios that have crashed. (that’s how I found out!)

Hi Timex,
That is an interesting observation and will give it a try when I get a moment.

Re: Class 156 problem
Hi Timex,
Just tried this out. It worked, in my case I arrived late at all the stops, once stopped counted to ten then used the HUD Load/Unload button. This done in cab (button1) view, observed the brake indicator, twitched as the doors opened but no program crash.
Things went wrong at the request stop. At this point went to the outside view(button2) and after ten secs pressed the keyboard (T) - game went into freeze mode and required the use of task manager to close it down. Ongoing test's the morrow.

Glad it worked, up to a point!J1o2h3n4 wrote:Hi Timex,

If you arrive late you do not have to wait ten seconds.
I've now found a similar issue at some rogue stops, I've recreated the problem and found a workaround that will not affect the timetabling (by sheer chance again).
I have to do some testing as I have not quite figured out the sequence of events in the best order for the fix.
Try and save the scenario at the request stop before opening the doors and wait until I post again.

Re: Class 156 problem
Hi all,
I recently ran a scenario with a class 156 as AI train...
Instead of having the train stop to "pick up passengers" I used the "stop at..." Command for each station, which meant the train would stop at the stations it was supposed to, but the doors won't open, meaning that there would be no freezing or crashing of the system. This only applies to AI trains.
Hope this helps someone who
Utilises the class 156.

Re: Class 156 problem
Hi all.
Tonight I have started having the same problem with the 156 as others have, when opening doors at stations on the WCML route the scenario crashes. However, I have been running it on the GEML route without problem. It has now been reported to DTG. Very, very strange!

Re: Class 156 problem
Was this the same liveried unit, a default one or a reskin?...it would seem that some liveries/reskins are affected, some aren't which points to an earlier/later/corrupt/slightly iffy .bin file being used as the base which to edit and create the file for the affected items. Also, was the driving coach the same type in each scenario, DMS or DMSL? --- one coach may be fine, the other might be the one with the problem.clivejames1st wrote:Hi all.

I doubt DTG will be much help, as much as they may like to, but the model and it's support is ultimately down to Oovee so the community at large would be your best hope of finding the root cause of the problem and fixing it. That's not saying don't contact them of course, just don't be aggrieved if nowt happens

Re: Class 156 problem
It is the default 156, the RR one. It happens either end, both DMSL and DMS. The real strange thing is I have set up a new route with the same platform, track, marker names, 156 etc. and I cannot get it to fail. The other thing that is strange is when I replaced the 156 with a 158 the scenarios will not start and claim the loco has no fuel, this is another new puzzle. For me these things are very new and I wondered if it is to do with recent updates, that is why I have informed DTG. I am certain Oovee will not do anything as I am still awaiting sound updates for their SD45 sound pack from last year. they never reply.

Don't think Oovee are into TS any more. They are more into a game called Spintires.

Re: Class 156 problem
I too have experienced same problems, maybe it's time DTG pulled the plug on this one and created their own version. Not good for those of us who have lots of reskins I know but, if the Ovee version can't be fixed, what other alternative is there. DTG can't continue to sell an item that is obviously faulty and it seems neither they or Ovee are going to fix it. I for one having read all the posts on this would not buy this. Just my own thoughts of course, but how do other people feel?Trev123 wrote:Don't think Oovee are into TS any more. They are more into a game called Spintires.
