Why is it that every time there is a sale on anywhere, there is nothing I want ? Maybe its because every time a new item is released I purchase it almost immediately.

LMS Jubilee was released the other but didn't buy it. Just got it in the sale and the 6MT Clan pack for DTG 6MT.

I got a direct mail from SSS on the day the Jubilee was released so I bought it. Now, a few days later it is in the 50% sale. Who is the most foolish, me for buying it there and then or SSS for reducing the price by 50% and p***ing me off? I must remember to unsubscribe to their newsletter.

They're merely joining in with the other sales so that those who are picking up required DLC at a discount can also get the expansions at a discount.

Every other payware provider insulates newer items from sales, SSS have included them and get bad mouthed for it - some folks are NEVER satisfied.

Me too. I did exactly the same thing. And I also was not impressed. Matt should have excluded the really new packs from the sale.
I also shall be a little more circumspect about the new releases in the future, particularly if there are other sales on about the place.

Still very pleased with the sound packs however.

I'm almost in the same position. I think it's that some sellers have frequent sales, but some others hardly ever reduce prices, even temporarily.

I disagree. I responded to the release e-mail in good faith. Surely Matt and his team would have known that in only two days they would be offering the very same product at half price.
John and I are not 'Bad Mouthing' them, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth that's for sure.

Yeah, I'm with you there John, not only did I obtain the Jubilee pack, but, I purchased 2 others as well, however, these packs are only a few pounds each, so, nothing too upsetting, if I'd have lost twenty quid, or, more, by this sale, then, that would have been totally different.

Cheerz. Steve.

The money is no big deal to me. It is the principle of being sent an 'exclusive offer' only to find two days later there is an even better 'exclusive offer' with 50% off. Hence my statement to unsubscribe from the newsletter so as not to receive any more 'exclusive offers':
It is with great pleasure that we release to you the LMS Jubilee Sound Pack. It is to be released this evening, but we would like to give you the opportunity to pick up the pack early.
This is a pre-release. The pack will be released on our website at 8pm today. Grab your pre-release copy for JUST £5.50 HERE

Thank you for Subscribing to the Steam Sounds Supreme Newsletter.

Unsubscribed. I rest my case, m'lud.

I think you're reading between the lines. Nowhere does it say you're getting a lower price, it even quotes the full price of £5.50. It offers you the 'opportunity to pick up the pack early' - I can only see one meaning to that.

deltic, I'm not reading between anybody's lines. I'm reading it is GBP5:50 and grab your pre-release copy here. And then I'm reading it is 50% off in a sale a few days later. SSS encouraged me and others to buy at full price and then reduced the price. I don't want anymore pre-release offers, thank you.
Is that too hard for you to understand?

So the problem is that some are getting it cheaper? .......... you might as well complain that some receive a higher wage, drive a better car, have a better PC......

If the pack was worth the amount you paid you've hardly been robbed at pinpoint, but if it causes you so much grief just drop me a PM with your address and I'll send you a cheque for the difference-----I'll even pay the postage too.

Before I begin, I'm speaking as my personal opinion and not that of a SSS tester.

Its not particular unusual for a company to offer exclusivity items prior to release and then discount or offer said exclusive items later on. This happens plenty with pre-order exclusive bonuses which then become available later. It also has happened with DTG, they have released a new route and then its been discounted in the Winter or Summer steam sale at 40% or even 50% off.

Infact its just happened to me, I bought the West Highland route only a few days ago not knowing DTG were going to run a 50% off it in the March Madness sale. Should I be annoyed? No not really, I bought it at full price and I can't particularly go ahead and complain to DTG that they should refund half the price because they decided to discount it only a few days later. Bussiness just doesn't work like that.

Maybe Matt could have handled it better and left the Jubilee pack out of the sale, but again there was no small print or terms of service indicating that items sold by SSS are protected for a period of time before they are discounted or not. Even DTG doesn't have such a claus.

You have voted to unsubscribe and that is up to you, but at the end of the day while it may seem offputting its not particularly unusual practice and at the end of the day as a newsletter subscriber you get exclusive earlier access to content well before its actually available to the rest of the paying customers, should they complain about that aswell?

Again its not much different to a company pawning off collector edition digital exclusives for money at a later point, it always riles the CE folk, but it still happens anyway.

I'll just like to point out no one is saying your wrong to feel annoyed, just its not really unsual in the gaming industry for this to happen and on a regular bases.

Lets put this to bed it is going nowhere. I do not want anymore offers from SSS so I have unsubscribed from their newsletter. I have not made any comments on the quality of SSS products and I have not bad-mouthed them as was suggested. I accept that the price was GBP5.50 and I will not be going back and asking for a refund. What is done is done. I would also like to add that I have a good wage, a nice car and a half decent pc and I'm happy with that.
Yes, other companies may do this but it does not make it right IMHO.
