Uk pro signal tutorials?
Hi everyone I'm thinking of upgrading my signals on my route from kuju to the uk pro signals and need to know are there any tutorials on how to use these as I'm having abit of difficulty with them. First of all I can sort the signals to clear which is good in scenario mode but I am having problems with the feathers for some strange reason they only stay on lit up and won't un light when junction has been switched to the straight on line so can't get the feathers to switch when I want them too? Even when the signal is red the feather stays lit when obviously they shouldn't be lit up at all on red? I'm guessing these signals work a lot differently compared to the kuju signals. Can anybody help me with my issue?
Cheers, Ian.

uk pro signals are the same as kuju the only differents is the box you fill out in the signal menu if you use the uk pro signals number to use on a station like Paddington to say what platform you will have to edit the Lua fileclass1987 wrote:Hi everyone I'm thinking of upgrading my signals on my route from kuju to the uk pro signals and need to know are there any tutorials on how to use these as I'm having abit of difficulty with them. With the UK Pro signals, you need to make sure the Link properties are set to display the appropriate feather. For example, the link that is meant to display Feather 1 would have a 1 typed in the first box in the Right Hand Flyout that displays the properties of the signal. Feather 2 would have a 2, and so on.

Oh right ok then didn't know that could you send me a pic image of what I need to type the feather number in so I know as there are several boxes in the flyout and not sure which box bit needs to be typed in.

They are named as they are in reality. Image borrowed from the excellent "Railsigns" website...class1987 wrote:Oh right ok then didn't know that could you send me a pic image of what I need to type the feather number in so I know as there are several boxes in the flyout and not sure which box bit needs to be typed in.

And thats the only number or name the UK pro signals will accept. Thus if you wanted link 2 to display feather 1 in the feather column simply put "1" (no quotes). The feather column is the one with a picture of an A in a theatre box.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...

forget that last message it's appeared now. Is it the identity boxes you place the numbers in?
By the way Antonyperks here are the images you wanted.
The green light works fine by the way so no problems with that it's just the feather.

Re: Uk pro signal tutorials?
Right.
In the column with the A at the top (first on the left) you need to put the number 4 in the bottom box.
So link number 2 (the number left of the columns) activates feather position 4.

Also another good tip make sure all the track ribbons are separate, so amke sure after all point work you break and re weld the put the links after the litte red triangle, also ensure there are no other signals on the same ribbon of track, i.e. separtate by cutting and welding.

Arh I see that makes sense now I'll give this ago tomorrow. Yes I did put a train on the track it didn't make any difference to it at that time. By the way out of curiosity what do the other functions do like the tick boxes on the left?

Re: Uk pro signal tutorials?
From left to right.
1. Direction indicator/feather. Depending on if the signal has feathers or a theatre box that's how you control what they display.
2. Differential speed. Can give different speeds for different routes.
3. Flashing aspect. Controls if you want a diverging route to display flashing aspects on the preceding signals. Used when a diverging route has a lower speed than the main line.
4. Approach Control. Used to force the signal to display red until the train is close before clearing. Is used when a diverging route has a speed significantly lower than the main line.

Re: Uk pro signal tutorials?
Ok that sounds ok to understand. By the way say I had a 4 or 3 feather signal would I need to put all numbers in box 2 under the letter A section? If not how would that be done?

Re: Uk pro signal tutorials?
If you had a 3 or 4 feather signal then there would be a box for each feather route.
