Iirc the class 319 were using the St pancreas high level platforms a few years ago. Also if dtg did only run the route to St pancras low level there is a cross over on the low level that allows trains to reverse south to north so would be fesable I guess. I am sure I have saw trains reverse on the low level

Yeah be nice to get to Sheffield. The shortest route being 158.5 miles.

To me that says we would be years away from getting there and at least 2 additional routes as well :)

After all any British route by DTG appears to be suffering from 50mileitus :):):):)

I don't know much about workings in that side of the country, not do I know if it was a one off or regular, but I'm pretty sure I see a 319 at St.Pancras.

It happened a few times during the rebuild of Farringdon station and I think during the building of St Pancras Thameslink as well.

Thameslink do maintain workings to St Pancras (ECS from what I gather) to retain driver route knowledge and of course when there's engineering work which there was this weekend just gone.

Bit confused why DTG are calling this Midland Mainline Route and not just London to Bedford, as very little of the mainline route is there as not many expresses call at Bedford, they call at Luton and then pass Bedford, and only take around 38 minutes to very short for expresses, now to run to Leicester I would call MML I would call this Thameslink North. Would be nice to see the old St.Pancras but unlikely as DTG already have St.Pancras Modelled in its International form, shame as being set uptodate there is going to be a lack of Eurostars in the station and unlikely to be any either, so no authenticity there Modelling before International would still be modern and be more real. Think this will be a sale price only route as only half a route again shame on you DTG. If you want to do short routes then do some local routes although not my cup of tea lots of fans like local and branch lines. Mainlines should be a reasonable length.

Each to their own, and what constrains them in time and resources.

I personally am very happy with the route that's coming out. Maybe it could be longer, maybe not. I personally will probably not utilise anything north of Bedford but I respect those who would.
The longer the route is, the less stable it will become - especially if I'm going to attempt to join MML with SLN and L2B. Any more and you'd see some performance problems for those with machines at the lower-end of compatibility,

- and you can't force people to upgrade their hardware, so you have to make it work as best as you can with everything, even if it means limiting your route scope.

Good to see this route is being created it is probably well advanced in the DTG studios, i see people are talking about its southern end point i hope it is London Bridge personally, however i think to future proof the route i would like to see the new tunnel created from St Pancras intl through to Finsbury park which i know is not open yet but it is there, it would offer even more opportunitys for scenarios from the East coast route for the up and coming Peterborough to Brighton services.

I think the freight scenarios would be rather limited with the route, it would
be nice for a small extension at Bedford to give a chance to run the forders binliner train which runs from Cricklewood and runs around its train in Bedford station, also it would be good if the sand terminal at Radlett was included again another chance for a freight scenario.

I will be looking forward to seeing the screenshots of Silkstream Junction just north of Hendon Station as this is where i spent many hours watching trains as a youngster.

Lastly i do hope that St Pancras station itself is included i really don,t mind seeing assets that we already have got in other routes used again as i feel this is something that DTG do not do enough of, they spend all that time creating good Terminus stations only for it to be used once, an example is the Liverpool to Manchester route , some fine modelling there but i doubt they will get used again on other future routes its a real shame in my opinion .

Perhaps we will get an offical EMT HST repaint !

Happy simming fellow simmers.

I must admit I would prefer it if this route went to Leicester. I don't know that much about the working on the line and assumed that Bedford would be a stopping point for express trains.

I personally think it is better if both ends of the route are major stopping points. Also, if there is no natural "terminus" for the trains emanating from Bedford where would scenarios end? Do they all go through to Brighton?

Still I do like the DTG routes as they are usually well built IMO and It will be good to have another route out of London, hopefully Euston will follow and would love to see Charing Cross, Waterloo and Fenchurch Street represented too!

most peoples computer can handle much longer routes, both sections of WCML are over 100 miles long and not many people have problems with these so to have the route to Leicester would work for most, just DTG giving English routes a bad deal, as US routes are longer and work.

On the positive side though, it is people like you and the community that make the `Sim` much better, glad you already thinking about joining the route up with other routes, would be nice to run Brighton to Bedford, I hope you will be able to join the route and thanks for your previous hard work

Well I wouldn't say that. Look at routes out of London, like Clapham Junction etc, these are very heavily congested and lots of buildings around. Probably more assets per mile than American routes.

Just found this on the load screen. Hopefully they will implement St Pancras low level.

As for the 319. Why the ---- did they have to use FCC...they're gone already...unless if the route takes place another time. Maybe it will be "secretly" packaged similarly to the ICE-2 in Hamburg to Hannover and Class 170 Turbostar in Edinburgh to Glasgow. I really hope to see it redone into Thameslink color with the Thameslink logos.

When most people speak of Midland Mainline the think of the TOC which came before East Midlands Trains. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midland_Main_Line
But I think DTG are referring it to the Main Line created by the Midland Railway Company.

Also people are complaining that the route is only 50 miles long but London to Brighton is only 51 miles long - no complaints about short distance that I remember.

I checked out the achievements, there appears to be a Class 66 that will be bundled.

They have the rights to the FCC logo and colour scheme.. may not do for Thameslink.
