An easy way to install repaints?
I just tried installing my first repaint, the Class 91 East Coast grey livery downloaded from UKTS, to be precise. 20 minutes of file-fiddeling later I see it appear in the editor, but I can't actually place the locomotives and coaches on the track. Nothing appears. Surely there must be an easier way to do this? In the soon 15 years old MSTS installing a repaint is a very, very straightforward process. I guess I'm just doing something wrong here?

Hi, what exactly was the 'file-fiddeling'?
Did you copy the shape file (.GeoPcDx) from the default version to the reskins folder?

Re: An easy way to install repaints?
The last piece of the jigsaw you're looking for is you have to enablethe different providers and products you want to use in scenario or world editor.
So for the Class 91 you need to enable RSC>Class52Pack01 and tick the box under the train shape. When you have the list of rolling stock in the middle on the left, you need to click the blue box with orange arrow on and this opens a menu in the top right. That menuis where you scroll to RSC and the Class91Pack01.
Hope this helps, the reason is that with so many trains, and with so much detail that it can't preloaded everything just in case you want to use it.

Matthew, he's got it appearing in the editor so that suggests the relevant Provider/Product boxes are ticked
which has all the hallmarks of a missing .Geo.bonan wrote:I see it appear in the editor, but I can't actually place the locomotives and coaches on the track. Nothing appears.

Ah, sorry I misread then. You need to duplicate the relevant shape file (.GeoPxDx format) in order for the item(s) to show.gptech wrote:Matthew, he's got it appearing in the editor so that suggests the relevant Provider/Product boxes are ticked

Re: An easy way to install repaints?
Thanks for the replies. As far as I understand it:
1 - Install repaints via package manager
2 - Extract GeoPxDx files from the train's folder using WinRar or 7Zip
3 - Copy GeoPxDx files to the repaint folder - where exactly is that? I believe I've followed instructions, but as I've said I can't place my installed repaints on the rails in-game.
4 - Clear cache

If you open the .rwp file with 7zip you can browse and see what directory you need to put it in.bonan wrote:Thanks for the replies. As far as I understand it:

Re: An easy way to install repaints?
The .GeoPcDx file needs to be copied to the folder where the reskins .bin file lives; something along the lines of ..\Assets\RSC\Class91Addon\RailVehicles\Electric\Class 91\East Coast\Grey
NB: That path will not be exactly as you have it on your PC, but hopefully it'll point you in the right direction.
