Re: TSX Mode
Hi Claus! Great to hear from you again!
No, but I will revery back to the original shader just to compare again, although I'm pretty positive things seem darker. Hmmmmm..... will check tonight

Many thanks Paul - I hadn't realised how blurry it was!

Re: TSX Mode
Glad this is making a difference for people. The blur effect isn't always that obvious, until you see what Train Simulator can do without it!
Claus, I haven't observed any darkening in my testing, and (as far as I know) the shader isn't used in the menus. However that does give me a "bright" idea; the luma shader within the FXAA shader could be modified to apply colour effects, for example, anybody fancy running steam era scenarios in black and white?
Hmm... Might give that a try, just for fun!

Re: TSX Mode
Yup, that works perfectly (left the HUD on just so you can see I didn't fake it!):

I don't know if there is any interest in this, but its easy enough to create any colour filter people might like.

Re: TSX Mode
I don't generally fiddle too much with the settingS too much once TS is running ok but thought I would give this a try. Quite a noticeable improvement overall, one of the best things in my opinion is how much signal sighting is improved, I have just run a scenario on the Bedford line in heavy rain and on straight sections signals are visible over a mile away.
Most of my settings are maxed out with the exception of shadows and water, I have a GTX 660 card and i5 cpu, antialiasing is set at 4. The TSX mode I installed was the strongest of the four. Frame rates are fixed at thirty and remain fairly constant. Well worth trying.
Thanks for making available.

Re: TSX Mode
Yes, I've seen the same Chris, signal visibility is definitely improved with the sharper image.
OK, so I'm just messing about now...

Re: TSX Mode
I am getting a much sharper picture plus less shimmering on OHW, using the "NONE" variant and 2 x 2 SSAA in TS2015.
No change in Moire on the points.
I get "better" results by turning FXAA off in the NVidia CP and NVidia Inspector and (if you have a Maxwell card) using MFAA and "enhancing" TS2015.
Thanks for this!

Re: TSX Mode
I hadnt realised how much of an effect TSX was having however I do have a small caveat. Now when I use the none example the image is actually a little too sharp. I think my eyes have become used to that distant blur and at really high resolutions it was giving a sort of subtle fake haze effect that seemed to have a DOF to it.

Im bizarrely missing that especially when I look at screenshots. I think I'm going to give the fixed version a go. Thanks for these though - excellent work and easy to swap and try.

Re: TSX Mode
I have been using the modification for a month or so with a noticeable improvement on most UK & European routes.
Until I ran Munchen - Garmisch a few days ago and the point and track work was quite horrible with shimmering and distortion.
I'm not sure but I remember there was an improvement pack for the route on RailSim.de and I might have used that before the applying this fix.
Anyone else having the same problems?
Peter

Re: TSX Mode
Improvement pack came from Trainworks, some original scenarios are not compatible with, whilst some newer require it. Generic Mod enabler is useful here, then you get the best of both worlds
