Czech this out! - narrow gauge Uzkorozchodna route

Post by JohnM1945 »

On the lively Railsimulator.net site, at http://www.railsimulator.net/index.php/ ... odn%C3%A1/, you will find a link to a new narrow-gauge Czech route. It looks very appetising.

As has been said before, expect to do a little work downloading necessary assets - there's a list provided - and expect to need Google Translate (other translators are available...) set up to translate from the Czech instructions. And be undismayed if you get file integrity problems while downloading; I had to have two goes at the main (294 MB) route & assets file.

More generally, if you're pro-European, Railsimulator.net seems to have some excellent contributors. Registration is free.

Kind regards,

John M

Lovely looking little route.

Had it not been for Jacks very useful links, I would not have attempted
to download this as my knowledge of the Czech language is less than zero :-)

Further notes...

The main route download contains a PDF copy of the text that Jack has so helpfully translated. It also contains a brief manual with notes on the route and pictures of the cab controls. The pictures of the controls have English translations (note the master key). The main manual doesn't have a translation but Google Translate makes a reasonable job of it.

For me, the route installed and loaded without problems. RW_Tools says a dozen assets are missing, but it also says that they're not actually used. A couple of textures are reported as absent.

There are regular scenarios.

So, a big THANK YOU to all concerned in building this and sharing it with us.

Went to drive the route but it came up with an error as I was loading a QD.

Ran the route through RW Tools and there are a few missing assets.
I noticed in Jacks post there were two links duplicated - I wonder
if the two duplicated links should in fact be these missing assets?

Re 'missing' assets.

I suggest you check the 'Assets used in Route' display in RW_Tools - not all the assets on the full manifest are actually required. I reckon there will be 11 items listed as 'Missing from Route' which are not listed in the 'Shapes/Assets used by this Route' display.

One missing (I think) stock item is Pikku's Daa-k wagon, which you can find at http://pikku.msts.cz/railsim.html, listed as 'CD Vagon Da-k' (it's the 8th item down). Also here is a small update file for the route - it's the top item. And 'stahnout' means 'download', by the way.

Kind regards,

It wasn't slow earlier when I originally downloaded the files,
but it is remarkably slow now - and so far tonight, the zip
files have been corrupted. Still trying to get Uzkorozchodka_v1.1 (the update) -
this may have the missing assets I'm looking for.

Dave P asked:
where is that 'Assets used by route'?
It's the screen you're invited to look at once you've closed the 'Missing Assets' screen in RW_Tools...

It's saved me no end of fruitless searching since I discovered it. (If all else fails, RTFM...)

More translations will follow soon, I am but busy with my working schedule. My plan is to provide translated *.html doc for sceanarios amd fully translate both manuals. Important note U47.019 is kinda faulty, please try avoud use it and or its consists it will cause crash of TS 2xxx.
Missing Assets (shapes) could be foud in file AssetsPackTT_v4.rwp http://modely-msts.cz/RW/TestovacTrat_v4.rar
More will follow later. Jack

Installed everything and run the tutorial and a QuickDrive.

Extremely impressed with the route and functionality! More than deserves to be payware!

Fantastic scenery detail. Particularly impressed with the use of guide rail on tight curves and the country lanes which have tractors driving down them.
