Verify cache

Post by ferdy »

Can anyone please tell me why, every time I verify the cache I'm told that 1371 files have failed to validate and will be re-acquired. It is always 1371.

This could be because of any modifications you may apply, if any to your TS install.

If for example, you only ever install a finite number of AP sound packs, then TS will revert x number of modified files back to their default state each time you verify.

As for doing a verify cache, if it is only a single item of DLC that you need to reinstall/return to 'defualt' state, you no longer need to go through a full verify to do so (since the update I think).

The link below takes you to a handy tutorial that explains what to do :) :

Hope this helps,

Hi - I've had this type of behaviour since last July (I posted about it here - http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... a&start=30). Prior to that a 'verify cache' on a 'clean' installation would return 0 or 1 file to be reaquired. However, I only validate occasionally and, despite the uneasy feeling that somethings not 'quite right', the game seems to be working OK and so I just live with it!

Hope this helps, Steve
