Just Trains Advanced Class 60 Probs
HI All
A friend of mine is having probs with his copy of the Just Trains Class 60 "advanced"...
Basically it wont move !....
We have both tried clicking on everything needed to move off, but nothing happens. Thinking it was possibly because we dont understand the "advanced starting procedure", we checked the manual and find that JT have included on this model a config file which allows one to switch between "advanced" driving procedure, and "basic " procedure.
WE clicked on the relevant config file, and instead of a box coming up with our choice of which procedure to choose from..the box appears on the screen for a few miliiseconds, and then dissappears again..doh ! So in other words it doesnt stay on the screen long enough to select the basic procedure for starting the loco and moving off.
Can anyone help please ?
Thanks
Derek

The config only switches between advanced and simple and you can do that in TS2015 anyway.

If it's starting from cold, don't forget the battery switch - Shift+B / Ctrl+Shift+B. Page 20 of the manual has the instruction:
It has three positions:
ISOLATE - red arrow pointing to 360 degrees. All electrical systems are isolated.
ON -red arrow pointing to 90 degrees. All systems are supplied with power.
OFF - red arrow pointing to 180 degrees. Only lights and the NRN radio are powered.
If you use the external view of the loco, you can see the switch and where the arrow is pointing although you can't control it with the mouse.

Only one step you missed. don't forget to turn off the DRA if it is lit before trying to apply power!

Another good thing to do is always read the manual.

......which doesnt give a clear description of a start up procedure from cold, or even a "move off" procedure if the scenario starts with the loco engine already running ! People on hee need to realise that we are not ALL rocket scientists !

Re: Just Trains Advanced Class 60 Probs
Hi Again All
I have talked my friend through the key commands that I have been given, and he STILL cant get the Class 60 to move !
The problem seems to be that the left hand blue line on the brake gauge, doesnt COMPLETELY release, and there is a sliver of blue at the bottom where the line drops to.
Any further advice please ? All he wants is to be able to load up this loco in a scenario, release the brakes and GO ! He doesnt want to hav to go through ANY complicated procedure just to move it.
Thanks

Re: Just Trains Advanced Class 60 Probs
Hi Derek,
he may have to hold the brake handle in the release position until the brakes have fully released (watch the pressure gauges), it could be just that wee bit more prototypical than a straight forward ON/OFF switch.

Sorry, if he didn't want a complicated procedure, why buy the advanced version, which is the whole point???

I actually purchased this loco quite some time ago and had never driven it, so I set it up in advanced mode and started up TS loaded up a scenario and after about 5 mins or so got the Class 60 going and completed the scenario. First thing I found in advanced mode the hud only sort of works and you have to be in the cab and use the mouse on the controls to work things.

Is that little idiosyncrasy mentioned in the manual?Trev123 wrote:I actually purchased this loco quite some time ago and had never driven it, so I set it up in advanced mode and started up TS loaded up a scenario and after about 5 mins or so got the Class 60 going and completed the scenario. Yes I found this out the other day. (sorry I have only just come across this topic.)Trev123 wrote:I actually purchased this loco quite some time ago and had never driven it, so I set it up in advanced mode and started up TS loaded up a scenario and after about 5 mins or so got the Class 60 going and completed the scenario. The manual also tells you to drag the key for the reverser, only problem it does not tell you where to drag it to and there is not anywhere obvious to put it.
Lucky guess I must have dragged it to the correct place and got it working.
