JT Newcastle - Edinburgh 'Dropping Ballast' Part 1 scenario.

Post by earwigo »

I have tried to complete what should be a straightforward scenario, but when I stop at a red signal as I'm nearing my destination, an AI multiple unit comes round the curve ahead, on the wrong line (i.e. my track!), and smashes into me.
I have tried this scenario three times with the same result.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks.
Stuart.

Many thanks. Let's hope a patch or other is released to fix it.

I had this happen to me but did not go back to rerun the scenario to check if it was me that made a mistake somewhere along the line and not a fault in the program. Now that I see this thread, I see it wasn't me making a mistake.

You have to admit - it was a bit of a shock to see the other locomotive slamming into yours with nothing you could do to save yourself....

In fact, I do not belive this is a bug, there a only 2 driving trains in this scenario.

Yeah, the very same thing happened to me. I had a look at the scenario, and the dispatcher routes the 'other' train onto the wrong track. I added a waypoint which allowed the dispatcher to correctly path the other train.

I have also e-mailed JT Support about the problem. I'm sure they will sort it out asap.

Cheers.

HI all,
Yep I have the same problem with this scenario, I'm starting to get a bit p--- off with this sim it seems we have to except one problem after another, even though I have spent several hundred pounds I'm seriously considering giving up altogether. The wife says we all should get the mug of the year award, I think she may have a point.

Pete.

I am sorry for the issue in this scenario,It's obviously not intentional and in testing it never showed up,I can only assume that I made a minor change which buggered the scenario up causing the problem highlighted above.

There is a fix already done and it will come out in a service pack that will be released before too long.

Regards,
Mark

Hi, just tried a QD from Berwick to newcastle central with a 150, early morning watching the sun come up... nice! However just a few hundred yards from my final stop the scenario ended with an Ai collision! Wonder if anyone else could give it a whirl as I know TS does strange things, especially a dispatcher that early on new years day!!! :drinking:

Hi, we appear to be 4 months down the line and still no fix or have I missed something?

Hi mate,

I was e-mailed by Alex Ford back in early Feb about trying out the update. I did so and reported back that the errors I had noticed were fixed.

Admittedly I have not seen any further details regarding the update. Try re-downloading the installer from your JT account and see if it is different from the original.

Otherwise a short e-mail to JT should provide the answer.

Cheers.

There was a patch released to a small number of customers (people who had reported issues to support) and there were a few remaining issues that came back which we want to resolve before the update is issued properly to everyone.

HI all,
Look back a few pages to the original post on this route and you will find that Mark has corrected these scenario's, I'm not sure if they are still available from him, worth a look.

Regards,
Pete.
