Re: help with signalling on route.
In real life, 2 aspect signals can be red/green (a starting signal in non-MAS areas), yellow/green (a distant) or even red/yellow (the last signal on approach to a teminus).

TS is real life - isn't it?davep wrote:In real life, 2 aspect signals can be red/green (a starting signal in non-MAS areas), yellow/green (a distant) or even red/yellow (the last signal on approach to a teminus).

Re: help with signalling on route.
Hi John here are the images with the links you requested in the PM post. Plus I've added an extra image of 4 trains going 2 different directions so you know which way they travel as you asked in the PM post.
The first two images are from the 3 feathered signal

Here is the last image with the 4 trains going in different directions.
p.s just had a though if you want to see the full rail line as extra help go onto google maps and type in Stafford and you will see the station with all the lines I've created on my route.
Cheers, Ian.

Re: help with signalling on route.
youve got your links way wrong there fella, draw a sketch drawing and scan it of the track plan and the signal then we can fill in the links where they go. you will also have issues with that many manual levers on the mainline unless you change them to autos. Basically the 3 feather signal should be link 0 to the mainline or straight on route, link 1 to the furthest left then 2 next left 3 the next etc etc. The 5 feather a 2345F signal the 0 main again, then 2 the far left, 3 next left then 4 the first right hand divergence, and 5 the next right. its hard to see from the screen shots but thats what i can make out. Also remember if you dont wish a train to go down a line then dont put any links on that line so the signal will never clear for it if set to it.

Re: help with signalling on route.
Actually yes it would be easier if I sent you the file and you do them for me, then I can look at the links you placed so I can do others on my route.
I learn better by seeing things I'm a visual learner you see.
Send me your email address through a PM and I'll email you the file.
Cheers, Ian.

Re: help with signalling on route.
haha that top picture is almost exactly what I did the first time I tried signalling a junction! Sat there for ages pulling my hair out wondering why it wouldn't work. A bit of trail & error and several Youtube videos later and everything suddenly made sense!
Just remember that golden rule - one link for each separate path that your train can take from the signal. In that example you have laid all three links along the same path.
Anyway, I'm sure Antony will sort you out. Like a lot of things in life the best way to become proficient at anything is by practicing and seeking help from those who have done it before, and route building is no exception. Like I said, signalling can be confusing when you start but suddenly it will just click and after a bit more practice you'll be signalling your route without even thinking about it

Re: help with signalling on route.
I must correct you there Antony. Link 0 is certainly the main line route but link 1 (feather 1) is the next left, 2 being the next and 3 being the furthest left. 4, 5 and 6 similarly, with 6 being the furthest right.antonyperks wrote:youve got your links way wrong there fella, draw a sketch drawing and scan it of the track plan and the signal then we can fill in the links where they go. you will also have issues with that many manual levers on the mainline unless you change them to autos.
