Something has happened to Train Simulator 2015?
HI everyone I need help, something has happened to Train simulator 2015. The game updated last night I can load game up no problem but for some reason now I cannot load any routes or missions when at the main menu? I did the usual verify integrity game cache through Steam but that has not made a difference, what has happened to make it do this?
Anybody know how to fix it or had the same issue happen to them?
Chears, Ian.

Hi, I can only assume you had an earlier version previously - have you tried the drive button?

More detailed information about your problem would be helpful, but it may be that you have set filters on the menus, which could be why you can't see the routes or scenarios?
Just a thought

Don't know about the filters I have basically tried drive and selected a route but all that happens is it loads a black screen and just freezes up. I know that by going into task manager it always says that when I've loaded a route up? At first I thought it was just my route that was causing the problem but no it is every single route in the game even on quick drive, scenarios and obviously build.

Same problem here, just in the process of restoring a backup.
Re: Something has happened to Train Simulator 2015?
Right good news is steam has updated itself again and now is working best advice now should disable anti virus and then when route has loaded up switch anti virus back on.

I too have a similar problem. Steam updated TS2015 this evening (491MB) and now the game fails to start - stalling with a black screen and creating a dump. Validating the game cache has not helped.

Re: Something has happened to Train Simulator 2015?
Having spent the last 3 hours trying to get this program to run, I eventually got it out of fullscreen via the -safemode switch. I then changed the screen mode to "Windowed [1024x768]" and exited and restarted - and the program ran without problems. Setting the mode to "Windowed [1280x1024] - Borderless" gave a similarly successful result. However, setting it to "Fullscreen" caused an infinite black screen after restarting, from which I eventually had to force the program to close (no mean feat - as the fullscreen mode had "blocked" access to the desktop [but not the taskbar]). This [fullscreen mode] was working fine before tonight's update, and - since the dumps contain information targeted at developers rather than users - I am at a loss as to know what is going wrong or what I can do...

I restored my backup which rolled program back to 48.0a but it still would not run after selecting scenario to drive, stopping on a black screen. It has now downloaded any missing items but still wont run. I guess I'll have to contact support.

Have you tried re-booting your PC. I had the same problem yesterday after a bought some stuff and added to my working copy got a black screen, after a PC re-boot it works fine

I ,too am in the same situation. on trying to load a route or scenario the screen drops away leaving a black screen.
To get out of it I have to use the Task Manager which tell me the sim's not responding. This has happened since the last update a few days ago.

Re: Something has happened to Train Simulator 2015?
Good news! After a files verification (2652 files reloaded) I have a working setup. I'm contemplating what to do next, I think best thing is to capture this setup minus the sound packs and addons etc straight away and add the 3rd party stuff as required in time backing up as I go. I don't know what went wrong but I want to try to avoid a repeat or at least mitigate the resulting hassle.

Something that I've been doing for a couple of years now is to start from a fresh, unmodified installation, just as DTG/Steam intended, and then as I add and test my mods, re-skins, soundpacks, etc., I backup the additional or altered files to an external drive. Then, when something inexplicable does occur and things go utterly pear-shaped and warrant a cache verification to reset everything, I have a batch file that I run which copies all the modified stuff back without having to find the source files, do the installation dance, etc. Has been a real timesaver on so many occasions.
Rgds, Rik.

Re: Something has happened to Train Simulator 2015?
Hi all.
Further to my earlier post.
I have tried verifying the files, all OK. Tried switching to window mode with no success
Still getting a blank screen after trying to load a scenario.
I can't determine if this is down to Steam or DTG.
This is the very first time I've had problems with the sim.
Now getting vey cheesed off.
