Pantograph does not look right. Seems to only have 1 arm on the lower section.

I thought that's what they had?

EDIT: I think I see what you mean, in that it appears to be missing the second support on the lower arm.

I don't think a picture of a scratch built model is a real indication of how prototypical DTG's model is (http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index. ... tographs/)

I noticed you linked back to the picture in the above post.
However the picture of the DTG model does not appear to show the smaller of the two arms between the 'knuckle' and the base 'appears' to be missing unless you have seen another picture?

No I linked back to the forum thread, complete with explanation of what it was, and what it started out as.

The text with the shot says "The Faiveley pantograph on the class 308 model is a modified Hurst kit. The insulator arrangement was copied from a photo of a Glasgow class 303 pantograph well.

True, but should there be one there? Do we know how far into development (ie: tweaking and changing from the original model) this *latest* shot dates from?
Unfortunately posting a screen shot of the original model could get one into bother, but can anybody say whether the original one had 1,2, or even more supporting arms? It's very unlikely that DTG would re-model the panto if what we see in the latest shot is basically what we've always had.

Well for the record, here is the pantograph from the original (pre-DTG) product, clearly showing the second strut. As Gary says, it's unlikely that DTG will have removed it.

In 1984, the ScotRail sector of British Rail began a major refurbishment programme for 50 of the 25-year old units. To conform to contemporary health and safety standards the asbestos insulation was removed. Among the many changes introduced were connecting doors between coaches

I assume it will probably use the Class 421 soundset as default, but seeing as only one unit still exists and it can't run under it's own power on the Bo'ness & Kinnel, it's going to be pretty hard to come up with some alternatives.

I learn something new each visit to this forum :)
The ones we had in the Manchester Area were un-refurbished.

I'd say that generally looks good, but sadly (for me), it's still afflicted by those horrible trademark light "glow" textures from its original stable on every light source.

I know, I'm odd...
