I wonder if this is a variation of the lovely JT version or a completely new model?

Re: RSC Voyager in development
I take it there rolling stock departmemt are bored, and have decided to make a Voyager that most people already own. Well good for some people that just want a simple non advanced version, can not see DTG making much money out of this one, will know doubt come free with RS2016 next year

Re: RSC Voyager in development
Other than a picture of the passenger view, I haven't seen any other details published on this as of yet. Do you have a link to where DG comment on the WIP DLC's features?david1 wrote:Well good for some people that just want a simple non advanced version
I will await further information, with interest, before drawing any conclusions,

Re: RSC Voyager in development
Hi,quite a bold move by the developers,if this is a new model, because it will be compared to its rival, and judging by past loco/unit releases by Dtg, its not there strongest point, although some Voyagers are being fitted with modified front valances ATM on the real railway,so there could be a small difference between the two models.

Re: RSC Voyager in development
DTG have a liscense agreement in place with CrossCountry so I'm not surprised by this development, I'm surprised it's taken them this long. However saying that, it's probably the amount of time they need to research their next UK route which I suspect with be along CrossCountry territory and I would guess the 220 will be included with this new UK route.

Re: RSC Voyager in development
One thing people have to remember is that DTG have a huge advertising system (steam) that atleast 90% of users will see when they fire TS up, where as JustTrains don't. So there will be those out there that don't know of JustTrains and there Voyager. So there is some merit I think in DTG making this, why should DTG advertise there competitors?
And to those who don't want it because its advanced... Dont get it, simple. There is no reason to bang the 'Dont want it' Drum

Re: RSC Voyager in development
A quick glance at the replies on that link seems like even the FB brigade are not enthusiastic about it - I agree with the poster that said more effort should of been made into creating a 185 but hey ho, maybe we'll see it in the future....
I guess DTG are aiming at those who want a Voyager that just accelerates and brakes with other buttons/notches just for show, I'll stick with my excellent JT Advanced model thanks.

So will I. How many people honestly think the JT Voyager is too complicated to handle?scorpion71 wrote:I guess DTG are aiming at those who want a Voyager that just accelerates and brakes with other buttons/notches just for show, I'll stick with my excellent JT Advanced model thanks.

Re: RSC Voyager in development
I will re-iterate the comments I made above.
Other than the picture of the passenger view, where else have DG published any further details on the features that this DLC may contain? I ask again because assumptions are being made that it will not be 'advanced' in the same way as the JT version is. Unless those who have posted are 'in the loop', then to me it is just speculation.
But one important point made above is the Steam aspect. Given the coverage the Steam platform provides and the total number of current TS users (an assumption here of my own), then to me, at least, this may appear to be quite a shrewd commercial move on the part of DG.
Regards,
Richard

Re: RSC Voyager in development
I wonder if the Voyager is totally new or if JT have done a version for DTG - the same way the VR did the 103 and HRQ the Taurus.

Re: RSC Voyager in development
I am surprised at some of the comments on here about steam customer base and people not knowing about JT. my best friends sons best mate who plays TS has heard of JT and knows nothing of real trains.
I am sure that a 10 year old down the road who has managed to set up a steam account can do a simple search of the internet and find other 3rd party content providers or even this site that's how I managed to find this site in the first place while looking for other MSTS content many years ago and I am from the BR Blue era, the youngster are far more into computers and the internet than I am.

Re: RSC Voyager in development
Isn't that what a forum is all about? For people to speculate and guess what could be/could not be? Or is it only those who know facts allowed to post?rfletcher72 wrote:I will re-iterate the comments I made above.

Re: RSC Voyager in development
Well, I have a seven year old son that finds it quite tricky to master tbf, perhaps I should just sneer down my nose at him for not being able to simulate properly though?xguerra wrote:So will I. There is only one thing we can take as fact in terms of features from that screenshot, being as it says 220 Voyager, we know there won't be any scripting for tilting.

As long as you don't have to brake 5 miles in advance for a stop, it should be good
