Armstrong Class 43 MTU Soundpack and ECML South

Post by andynwt »

I found a similar thread on this which is now locked, but it didn't contain an answer that I could fathom.

Basically, I have the Armstrong Class 43 MTU Soundpack and want to use it with the East Coast repaint that comes with ECML London to Peterborough. I've applied it using Easy Apply and the horn works, and that's it. No other sounds at all.

I have extracted the ECML AP file.

Any ideas? I have emailed AP for support just in case but maybe one of you can answer it quicker :) Thanks.

Have you got RWTools? If so,try applying the sounds that way, I don't know if that will work, but it is worth a shot

Thanks, I tried that too :)

It's supposed to apply the sounds to this version of the 43 automatically when you perform the install of the soundpack from what I understand, so it's very odd.

This is the Pro mtu soundpack I'm assuming, if so then that's a weird one as I have the sounds installed on the hst included with that route. I never extracted anything from the .ap file, after installing the sound pack I have the following extra files & folders that deal with getting the mtu sounds working correctly.

Assets\RSC\ECMLS\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class 43\Class 43 Engine Sound.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class 43\Cab\Class 43 Cab Sound.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class 43\Cab\Class 43 Horn Sound.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\Audio\RailVehicles\Wagons\Mk3\AP_Mk3_Guard_Driver_MTU_Sound.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\InputMappers\HST_Expert.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\EastCoast\Class43\class43_ec.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\EastCoast\Class43\class43_ec_nd.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\EastCoast\Mk3TFO\mk3tfo_ec_H.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\EastCoast\Mk3TSO\mk3tgs_ec_A.bin
Assets\RSC\ECMLS\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\EastCoast\Simulation\HST Engine Simulation.bin

One thing I have noticed with the hst included with this route, the brakes aren't notched like they're supposed to be.

I have that sound pack. Is the scenario that you are trying to run Back to Bounds Green. I get an error message Unable to load file scenario bin. I just push F2 and save and I'm able to run that scenario. I have used Easy Apply on the one HST that shows up to be modified.

Thanks, but no, it's any scenario, even quickdrive.

Might try removing all the files and go back to the AP, although I also wanted to install a Grand Central reskin which says you need the AP to be decompressed.

You'd only need the .ap extracting to be able to copy over the .GeoPcDx file and possibly any others needed to make the reskin work; that's all---the .ap does not need to remain extracted after that.

Thanks everyone, nailed it.

1. Deleted everything in the ECMLS folder apart from the AP (duh)
2. Reinstalled GC reskin and EC reskin
3. Install AP soundpack and applied to GC reskin
4. Cleared Cache
5. SOUNDS!

Well, partially. Works fine with the EC train, but still doesn't work on the GC reskin :-?
