I have always liked fictional routes, but for some reason I hate fictional liveries! :o

Very nice pictures, the route really has that Scottish highlands feel about it. The night sleeper shots with the Class 37 are especially nice.

Hi Guys
Now autumn is coming i have restarted on the route. I have fixed a lot of items in the Beta like removing manual signals.

I am now extending the route north over Loch Leven towards Fort William for another 5 miles which is nearly complete. And across Rannoch Moor to bridge of Orchy which has not got very far. I Will release another version before Christmas. Here are some screenshots

Lastly some misc shots of the BETA route already issued.
Lets run a quick drive of american traction and see what happens. The crown of the tunnels gets knocked out and the train nearly doubles back on itself.

Hi
I like the look of the up dated route, definitely a suitable route for the Blue /Grey era,can run Cl21,27,37,47's on it,just a shame there's no Cl26's,you could also back date it further and Std4/5's,B1,Black 5,8f's and the new K class locomotives by Victory Works & Just Trains when they are released
Look forward to its release, normally I don't really like fictional routes, but somehow this one feels different, probably because its based on a real might have been, and has proper place names.

thanks Tomhas2. coming from the transpennie team thats praise indeed and much appreciated.

Michelhendle. well i thought trying to do a real route was maybe ambitious for a first attempt and a lot of imaginary routes i find it is hard to get the landscape to look realistic, it looks more like a train set. At least imagining a line in real landscape allows a little realism.

Mind you there is compromise, i am sure that if the line had got built in 1880 the bridge acrosss loch leven would not have been a long span steel arch, it probably might have looked like the loch etive bridge or the runcorn bridge, however i couldnt find anything that represented that era so i used a rhine bridge asset off a german route. i can always pretend it needed rebuilding in the 30s.
The route is set modern era but i havent put too many assets in that defines it so yep it can run from BR blue, large logo to today. i am going to do some scenarios across the ages. Modern Royal Scotsman, 80s royal scotsman, 80s timber freight. 80s timber traffic, Alcan aluminium freight etc. Steam specials. just need to learn to do scenarios!

This route is amazing. Thank you very much for sharing it.

When I run it through RW_Tools I get the following flagged as missing:

\Assets\Developer\product\glencoe.bin (Road Item) on tile -000201+000000.bin
\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\TrackRules\Glencoe_TrackRules_all track - Backup.bin (Loft Item) on tile -000188-000008.bin
\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\TrackRules\Glencoe_TrackRules_all track.bin (Loft Item) on tile -000203+000000.bin

Any suggetions as to how to fix this?

Also trying to run the first scenario "80s Steam Special" results in a total computer lock-up, even though RW_Tools tells me I have all of the stock required for it. Could that be related to the missing files?

Hi David, I was worried these sort of issues might crop up. I had a number of crashes that wiped the track rules out, lost track and I had to spend ages rebuilding sections and correcting bits of the track rule. I spent more time sorting crashes than route building. To be honest its put me of doing another route.

I ran RWTools to check the route before I uploaded it, it says those assets are missing on mine as well. As far as I know those assets are not important but I was not brave enough to delete them from the route. You might try deleting them in RW tools and let me know how it goes

The 80s steam runs fine on my computer.some of the freight scenarios I tried loading and I just couldn't get it to work. Do the other scenarios work okay?

I'll be honest if it is a issue with the route I am not sure I have the knowledge to rectify it. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I've started several of the other scenarios and they have all started okay.

Have just discovered this thread here which I did not know about. I have posted this over here : http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 1&t=143909 a few small issues whereas I cannot find a few Trackrules and the SAD files being directed to a location which does not exist, sort of. hoping someone can help? Sorry for hijacking this thread in hope of remedying my plight.

David, and anyone else having issues running the "80s steam special scenario". The route manual contains an error. the GWR green reskin of the class 47 required is not in the class 47 asset pack. its a reskin from the DPsim website Vulcan class 47 pack.
http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/vulcan.html

apologies for not including it in the route guide.

Hopefully people are not having too many issues getting it to run.

Having now installed the correct VP reskin thanks, and now being able to run the 80's Steam Special from within the cab only (see post in General section). How does one get to pass the "Glasgow Central-Fort William" train that is blocking its path. I checked the map at the start of the scenario and this train just sits there motionless the whole time.

Note Anthony has picked up another issues.

All rolling start scenarios were saved when using simple controls. Funny things happen with the controls when running these scenarios with realistic controls. Obviously an issue with Trainsimulator.
