Like many I dabbled with RW1...2? ...but real life seriously cut ANY sim time for me.
Therefore my question (in the title really?) is can someone post a definitive compatability chart for the aspects of what is now 7 versions of the original Sim?
Many here are Flight Simers too ...and we know that there is little backward compatability. Even lack of support for some of the latest varaitions of FS.
So what still works in the latest versions ...and what doesn't? ...I'm sure I'm not the only one looking at UKTS who'd appreciate a definitive answer?

Just about everythinglateagain wrote:So what still works in the latest versions.....
Granted, there are some items that may need a tweak (cab view corruption due to the <wiperpairs> entries in the .bin, added for the raindrops on windscreen springs to mind here) but if it worked in Rail Simulator/Rail Works it will almost certainly work in TS2014.
Is there an item in particular you're concerned about?

As above, a route I built for RailSimulator still runs fine in TS2014

Thanks Guys.
I was expecting a long list of issues
....but that all sounds promising.
No particular issues because I didn't have a great deal of stuff and for me there's a lot of real life in the way of a second look. My question was prompted by the labelling of uploads to the library and the fact that there are still separate forums for all of the above versions.

Possibly because whilst stuff is compatible going from old to new, the newer stuff (or at least many of the newer features that the newer stuff uses or calls for) doesn't always work going from new to old. Separate forums keeps revision specific topics in the *right* place but many of the posts in the older versions forums are relevant to the new version....that made more sense when I thought of it than it does now I've written it, but I hope you get what I mean.lateagain wrote: My question was prompted by the labelling of uploads to the library and the fact that there are still separate forums for all of the above versions.

I also wondered this but was delighted to find that as has been said, they all fairly much work and that then opened up a HUGE availability of Scenic assets and the like!
