Re: Northern Rail 319
There is another post somewhere on these forums, where a member was doing just that. However because of the one sided texture mapping of the 319 a child texture object would be required . I'm not sure if the problem was solved ?
Any way, by the time Northern get their 319s they may have changed their livery or the franchise !

Re: Northern Rail 319
The first Northern 319 is on Allerton depot and the franchise has just under two years so they might repaint it

It's Northern, it won't be a repaint it will just be a rewrap and put gaffer tape over any rust holes...749006 wrote:The first Northern 319 is on Allerton depot and the franchise has just under two years so they might repaint it

I doubt it , the DFT doesn't want money spent on them until the next franchise. I think they'll just put "Northern" branding on them.

Re: Northern Rail 319
First Class 319s for Northern will start to take their place in some North West diagrams from May 2015 - they will run in existing section running time slots for the DMUs they replace at this time. It is currently unclear if they will just randomly appear on a DMU diagram one day, and not the next instead of using sufficient units to take over a specific service sector.
This is all dependent of course on whether FCC get their new units too.
Get ready for Class 168/3s out of Marylebone too - re-classified Class 170s discarded by some other train operator based in northern England.

Not discarded by First Trans Pennine Express, but forceably removed from them as being too good for the North of Englandspellow3010 wrote:First Class 319s for Northern will start to take their place in some North West diagrams from May 2015 - they will run in existing section running time slots for the DMUs they replace at this time. Re: Northern Rail 319
More like Porterbrook making a deal without telling TPE until the deal was signed already, I understand that the 170s will go through Wabtec at Loughborough(who are currently refurbishing the 168s) to bring them up to standard with the rest of the Chiltern unit fleet...Springer6 wrote:Not discarded by First Trans Pennine Express, but forceably removed from them as being too good for the North of Englandspellow3010 wrote:First Class 319s for Northern will start to take their place in some North West diagrams from May 2015 - they will run in existing section running time slots for the DMUs they replace at this time. Re: Northern Rail 319
I was told the first 319's would work on the Liverpool - Manchester Airport run from Dec 14 - although that could change.spellow3010 wrote:First Class 319s for Northern will start to take their place in some North West diagrams from May 2015 - they will run in existing section running time slots for the DMUs they replace at this time. Re: Northern Rail 319
Mmmm, you're more than likely right. Seems to hang on whether FCC get their replacement units. Having re-read the notes I made at a meeting in March, it does appear that there is an aspiration to take Class 319s into use from December. How many though, I am yet to see through the fog.749006 wrote:I was told the first 319's would work on the Liverpool - Manchester Airport run from Dec 14 - although that could change.spellow3010 wrote:First Class 319s for Northern will start to take their place in some North West diagrams from May 2015 - they will run in existing section running time slots for the DMUs they replace at this time. Re: Northern Rail 319
Personally I think 319's are ugly things but the Northern livery does make it look better.
Never travelled on one before (only on TS2014
) so look forward to experiencing for real now they're arriving in my region, not too long to wait.....

Class 40's enjoyed their working life so much they whistled whilst they worked
