BR Regional 101

So, here's another excuse for the aspiring critics/users to jump on the DTG-bashing band wagon:

It seems as though DTG are warming to the idea of not re-branding old addons and getting everyone to pay full price for it again though, well sort of...

They say that current Strathclyde 101 owners will get this free of charge (not too bad to be honest), but I don't know if that will work the other way round. Will owners of this be able to download the Strathclyde variant free in the same manner? If that is the case, then I'm all for it. However the above post on FB has shown that some people appear to be choosing to sidestep this information and complain about it anyway. On the other hand, DTG don't appear to be making this piece of info very obvious (relaying this to only one of the comments/complaints) and as such most others didn't get the message. However I was particularly entertained by the one person who complained that DTG were releasing too many "steam trains" like this, which really doesn't help the idea that most of these people are complaining just for the sake of complaining without actually knowing what they are annoyed about

Anyway I'm interested to see what others think, and how this whole deal will play out in the end...

Well it's going to be free which is a big thumbs up to DTG and some of those comments on facebook are embarrrassing. Like you said someone says stop doing steam trains Then someone calls the 185 a EMU , then the person who said its a ripoff then half backs down when hearing it is free and says buying all the DLC is 2000 bucks, Which no one is telling him to buy all the DLC. Am i in a dream or are some people on the sauce all day.

Well if its free then that's gotta be good news,but the choice of a reg rail 101 is a curious one for DTG because I can't think of a route that it currently does that would fit around it, or more intriguingly does if give a pointer for a more [for me anyway] interesting era on a new route

For the upcoming Liverpool to Manchester route would fit.

It will be a 158 with the route. At least this means you won't need to have 158's doing every service.

Shame they haven't fixed the blacked out high intensity light on the DMBS from the original pack, hope that does get fixed before release... It will be nice to recreate(just about) the final days of the 101s around Manchester though...

The North West was one of the final mainline resting places for the c101, be it late 90's or early 00's 101's in Regional Railways livery were working services in the region alongside the aforementioned RR c158's so the forthcoming route will be perfect for the RR 101

101's used to work the Irlam-Manchester Oxford Road shuttle crossing over to turn back at Glazebrook East Junction, in the late 90's early 2000's.

There was also a BR Green with small yellow panels knocking around Manchester until the end aswell

Yes it seems that the unit is now in its 2nd major overhaul since the original Railsimulator release.
