Scenarios for the DPS PDL

Post by brick60000 »

Hi there,

I have recently been contemplating about purchasing the Portsmouth Direct Line. As DPS have produced a fantastic version of this available through the Steam Workshop, I was wondering how to go about transferring scenarios using RW_Tools.

I received advice about the processes I needed to carry out in the Steam Summer Sale thread, but I am new to RW_Tools so am easily confused :D I do not want to make it off topic so have created this thread to ask (sorry if this is not necessary!).

Thanks in advance,

Have you tried just copying the scenario folder from the original PDL folder into the DPS version's folder?
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

Under RW Tools, a clone of scenario with new name works fine.

I haven't bought the route so am just checking what the best method is really or if it is even possible :) Wasn't sure whether this would work or not originally as I read that this didn't always work, so just wanted to check :)

How do I go about doing this to transfer it to the DPS version? Do I just clone it and then copy that over?

Thanks for both of your suggestions :)

Under Windows, copy scenario in [DPS] pdl scenario directory and after use RW tools

Okay thanks for that. Sorry if I am being stupid :D but does that mean that once copied, I clone the copied scenario and that one will show up in Train Simulator? At a guess, can I then delete the one I cloned?

Thanks for your continued help!! :)

The copied scenario can be deleted after RW tools cloning

I have downloaded the routes now, but am wondering, is there a way to clone multiple scenarios or do I have to clone them individually?

EDIT: I have cloned the DPS route and it recognises all the scenarios :D. Thanks for all your help! I shall get driving :D

Thanks,

Hi all,
Please excuse my ignorance but what is exactly meant by this?

Thanks very much, I'm pretty much a newbie with RW Tools and what a tool it is! Shoutout to Mike for creating such a fantastic program :D
