Mike,
just FYI and for anyone else who runs into the problem. Ever since the days of WinNT, I've always installed most programs outside the m$ default folders, so that's where steam, rw-tools and storethem have gone (drive X actually which is a separate hard drive). So, given that most users don't have the problem, just what the heck is it about my install of Win7 that causes this and a fair few other niggly little problems ?

Thanks again,
moi

This obviously is a very useful tool for RW but I have found it quite difficult to get it up and running.Like someone else found I discovered it would only work properly when activating 'run as administrator' and somehow I managed to get the right path for'Store Them'.Don't ask me what I did.I cannot however seem to get the right path for the Help facility, could someone please give me the correct path!!!
Many thanks.

Hi Dumps,

1. The easiest way to run anything as administrator is to right click on the StoreThem.exe file and select Properties/Compatability and tick the box near the bottom which says something like 'Always run program as administrator'. Then you never need to touch it again.

2. The path to the help file will be the path to your Acrobat Reader (assuming you have it installed), or any other .pdf file reader if not. By default it is probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe

Well the StoreThem.pdf file should be in the same folder as StoreThem, so if you open the file from the help menu it should not be missing.

Alternatively, you should just be able to doubleclick on StoreThem.pdf from your WindowsExplorer and open it from there?

Hello,

I've used StoreThem to store everything (Routes and Assets). OK
Then I restored some routes and their assets. OK
Now, I want to "Restore Everything". When running StoreThem, I have some error message like "Path not found" (I don't really remind the message). I've said "OK" at all messages.
And finally, StoreThem show me the result. I've just Three Routes Stored, and no Assets. It's not true. It's only a "Display" bug.
When I run again the StoreThem program, all my stored assets are always here (in StoreA folder). But, my stored routes are false (only 3). It's not true. All my previous stored routes are always in the StoreC folder.
Thank you to have include the message "Folder not empty : would you want to delete it anyway ?". Without this question, I could have lost all my Railworks Routes and Assets.
Hope this will be useful for you.
Best Regards

I just have an another look at my folders.
The action I have done was : "Restore Everything".
The result is exactly the opposite. On my "real" Railworks Assets folder, nearly all the providers (but not all) folders are always here, but empty. Their content have been moved to the StoreA folder.
I think that nothing is lost ...

Hi Roland,

If all of the folders in Assets are empty, and ALL of your Assets are present in the StoreA folder, then delete the empty folders and go to the 'Restore Assets' button and that should move them all back.

Your problem appears to be that you got an error message about a missing path and ignored it, you should not get such an error. I think you are in France, and it could be that you have a folder with accented letters in the title and this might cause a problem. I have only tested the program in English.

Just to say, been using Store them and in conjunction with RW tools works brilliantly, saves trawling through loads of assets when doing scenarios etc..
