RWA Donationware Route - Lakeside
Railworks America have produced a lovely little fictional US switching route, complete with rolling stock and scenarios, for $15. You can read all about the RWA Lakeside Route on the forum here http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=45 , and you can buy it here http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/h ... side-route .

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Re: RWA Donationware Route - Lakeside
This is indeed a very pleasant route, offering interesting scenarios in a rural setting with industrial rail-users all needing your attention. And it installs easily with (for me) just one texture file missing (and probably discoverable elsewhere).
If $15 seems a little bit more than you wanted to pay, remember that this route and its assets have been donated to RWA to help fund their excellent website - so it's not just fun, it's in a very good cause!
KInd regards,

It is really an excellent route and loco with wonderful attention to details. It's set in the '50s during the transition era. The Alco RS1 is a very well-done model of an iconic loco. Lots of operation potential and some new features for TS like operating engine house doors. The included rolling stock and scenarios are excellent as well.

And I'm happy to say that, on re-running RW_Tools, there's nothing at all missing. A senior moment, I think...And it installs easily with (for me) just one texture file missing (and probably discoverable elsewhere).

Re: RWA Donationware Route - Lakeside
Alan, many thanks for raising this route. I am involved with beta testing some scenarios created by the crew over at NERW. There are I believe 26 scenarios ( which include QD and FR)
which come with the route. Not sure how many more scenarios will be added. As JohnM1945 said it is all going to a good cause.
Once again, many thanks

I believe Bob has another dozen scenarios in the pipeline, with more to come I imagine. I don't think this route will go begging for scenarios anytime soon.

More free rolling stock is already available for the Lakeside route, including a Pere Marquette Berkshire and F7 A/B from the route download site http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/h ... side-route , and an EMD SD9 from http://golden-age-rails.com/packsrw/emdsd9rwa.html .

Very tempted with this....(only works out at £9 + some pennies when changed into £s) - what will swing it is (if anyone that has it can comment upon) what are the sounds for the Alco like? Cab looks good from the images I've seen.

Re: RWA Donationware Route - Lakeside
Thanks for that - don't know how I missed the video on the purchase page!
Sounds good on idle but a bit quiet for an Alco when on the move? In any case the route looks very interesting so I think a purchase may be in order!

Re: RWA Donationware Route - Lakeside
Early days yet as I have only played one scenario thus far (took just over an hour) but what a cracking little route! Well worth £9.22.
If you like/enjoy the stuff Rich Garber used to make for MSTS and RW then odds are you will like/enjoy this.

Re: RWA Donationware Route - Lakeside
Do all the assets install to one directory or are they a combined collection of assets in multiple directories?
Might sound picky but that would be the sticking point for a purchase by me
