I have a Creative Xtreme Gamers X-Fi sound card which is about 5 years old connected to my Logitech Z 5500 5.1 speakers system. Anything I can do to improve the sound quality as I have bought almost all of AP sound packages and would like to experience that in the best possible way. If one crank up the volume the sounds are there but I am not sure of the clarity and detail are there. Could someone please give some guidance or advice in this regard.
Much appreciated

Earforce Seven headset, expensive but great bass rumblings on standard setting 2. Bypasses all sound cards and does its own thing.
Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz @ 4.60GHz,
Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 3072MB
Motherboard: Intel Z68 (Socket 1155), 8MB DDR3 RAM. On-board Sound
Windows 7 64
I Mean, that should do it?

Hi, check the default sample rate & set to 192000Hz 16 bit to get the best from your existing card - you could try 24bit but can cause problems as uses more resources

What about a better sound card

I've got one of those cards, and have always been very impressed. It is paired with a 7.1 speaker system, so has as much bass rumble as you want....
