Re: DTG class 27
A good loco for WLoS - which is where the picture is taken - I think.
Also good for SECML & E2G if they do a blue version - I would presume via the Workshop

Nice.
I'd rather see a Rat than a Mc.Rat - much wider appeal...

Shame E2G is a modern incarnation of the route.749006 wrote:A good loco for WLoS - which is where the picture is taken - I think.

I hope Rich does a decent set of sounds for it
I would be interested to know what the actual difference is between the models?

Do these sound the same as a Class 33?smarty2 wrote:I hope Rich does a decent set of sounds for itI would be interested to know what the actual difference is between the models?
Re: DTG class 27
Similar but a 33 is 8 cylinders versus 6 for all the little Sulzer Type 2s. Lovely sounding bunch of locos though, very raspy.winifred89 wrote:Do these sound the same as a Class 33?smarty2 wrote:I hope Rich does a decent set of sounds for itI would be interested to know what the actual difference is between the models?

As Matt says, similar engines - but to my ear, they sound completely different.winifred89 wrote:Do these sound the same as a Class 33?
The 26's (6LDA28 power units as opposed to the 27's 6LDA28B) were often referred to as 'teacups', because of the distinctive note of the engine whilst ticking over.
AP did offer an enhancement pack for the 24/25/26/27? if I remember rightly before things turned sour. I cannot vouch for this, though I do hope we can look forward to a 'pro' pack for all the Derby/BRCW type 2 Sulzers

Richard

IIRC it was intended for the Meshtools 24.rfletcher72 wrote:As Matt says, similar engines - but to my ear, they sound completely different.winifred89 wrote:Do these sound the same as a Class 33?

Excellent, looking forward to this one.
But, I cant help but notice the bodyside windows are to low in relation to the white stripe.

Yes Robert they do seem to be, and you are better placed than most to communicate the fact.RobertM wrote:Excellent, looking forward to this one.

Possibly, a little.
But remember, the photo you've posted shows white window surrounds, which blends in with the white body paintwork.
The screenshot shows a model with dark window surrounds, so this 'adds' to what is seen as the window size - whether any were actually painted like this is debateable.
