A couple of WCMLoS Questions

Although I have looked at WCML over Shap I have only just been able to buy the route.

A couple of questions - I have looked thru the other threads but not spotted an answer - but I'm sure if it's been posted someone will put a link

The Mk2 coaches sound like Mk3 coaches with the Air Suspension Unloader Valves noticeable at slow speed which they don't have - is there a fix.
The brakes on the Class 87 are slow to apply and release - is there a fix.
And the road traffic drives on the wrong side - is there a fix.

I too noticed this, and wondered if the sounds it uses have been replaced by a third party soundpack, but I can't be sure. As it's not really an issue for me (I didn't know the sounds were incorrect), I've not taken the time out to investigate, and probably won't, but it wouldn't be hard to change the sounds.

This is due to the more realistic air brake simulation and scripting, where the longer the train, the longer it takes for the brakes to respond. If you try them light engine, they're quite rapid. I've no experience of the real things, but I really like the scripting as it seems authentic to me - takes a while to get used to, but thoroughly rewarding, made even better by the coach brakes now applying with realistic brake force. As for a fix, no, because it's a scripted feature, locked in the compiled script. You'd have to remove/replace the script and lose the rest of the features, which would be a shame, and a PITA to sort out, so I'd personally leave it.

I've never noticed this! Too busy enjoying the surrounding Pennine scenery probably... I would say it is probably fixable by tinkering with the traffic manager.

I think that's a slight generalisation - the vast proportion of the roads carry traffic on the correct side. However, in doing some tinkering I have noticed that this route uses quite a few US scenery assets so it sounds as if some US roads have been laid in error for UK ones.

I have never tried swapping road types with RW_Tools but I would have thought that is going to be the easiest way if it can be done. I have changed quite a few roads manually in various routes (my pet hate is double-deckers that happily drive through low under-bridges!) - that in itself isn't unduly difficult but it is quite time consuming as it is very easy to leave sections un-joined so that vehicles appear/disappear within sight of trains.

Hopefully somebody who had done this before can comment on the ability of RW_Tools to handle this task . . .

Thanks gents.

It was as I arrived at Carlisle and you pass a road with some houses on the left at Upperby and the cars were on the wrong side of the road.
The problem with the 87 for me is I cannot see the brake handle so it's difficult to know what percentage of brake is applied.

Re replacing roads:
Quite a long time ago, I read a post on here that suggested using the off-set tool to lay a new road alongside (or overlapping) the road you want to replace. Once laid, the old road is simply deleted. I haven't tried it myself though.

Why not pan the view down so that you can? You can always pan up again if that's the view you prefer.

Or, you could set the viewing distance in the cab to be further away. Try altering the Field of View in your desktop's TS2014 shortcut configuration options by adding:

-Set FOV=85

and see how that looks. You may need to experiment with the exact number that works best for you, but you'll find that using this setting "pulls back" the view in the cab, and in the other views too. Be careful not to set too high a value, otherwise you'll find yourself behind the cab bulkhead...

Don't put a space between 'Set' and 'FOV' though otherwise it won't work. To be accurate it doesn't move the eyepoint back, you'd need to edit the camera file for that, it just gives a wider field of view.
