Where to find the UK Buildings Model Pack
I've noticed that this is a requirement for quite a few freeware routes, but I've never actually gotten it because all the links to the Steam page don't work. I was told not too long ago that it was available for download at http://www.dereksiddle.com/2.html, however it would seem that this site is no longer working. Does anyone know where I can get this pack, or is it default with newer builds of TS?

Its no longer supplied separately. It is however part of a number of routes, such as WLOS, Falmouth, Woodhead, Settle and Carlisle. Possibly not fully in some of the other ones, but I think WLOS woudl have had a full installation of it, simply because its developed from 'The Port Road'.

Re: Where to find the UK Buildings Model Pack
Are you thinking of the UK Assets pack there Stuart?
As far as I'm aware the UK Buildings Pack, or AP Station as it's also known, isn't part of any of the routes--that's why it was able to be hosted by Dereck

Re: Where to find the UK Buildings Model Pack
As stated by Stuart above, The UK Buildings Pack is included in quite a few RSC routes. The think the reason Derek hosted the pack was because it was originally free.
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it

Re: Where to find the UK Buildings Model Pack
Hi
Looks like I've wasted hours again downloading and getting all the items to gether only to find now the station pack that was on Dericks site now not availble,I;m not going to spend X amount £ on hit and miss routes just to find out if a route has got the stations.
No wonder new people get put off of TS,always some thing is withdrawn, the number of scenerio's I have down loaded only to find a locomotive has been withdrawn.
Oh well back to good old MSTS the new MEP+ route covers the area of East Anglia I'm interested in.

I looked at your list and I have Falmouth, but the route I tried to install didn't seem to pick them up,I tried to use TS Tools to see if I could use items from another route but that just lost me completly, getting to old that's my problem.

We're all getting old but your age isn't the problem---it's your 'mindset'...if you go into something with trepidation you'll usually fail, or at least have lots of bother.michaelhendle wrote:I looked at your list and I have Falmouth, but the route I tried to install didn't seem to pick them up,I tried to use TS Tools to see if I could use items from another route but that just lost me completly, getting to old that's my problem.

There's a forum full of helpful folk here, post exactly what route you're trying to install and what you've done and between us we'll get most (if not all) of your problems resolved.

Re: Where to find the UK Buildings Model Pack
Hi
I want to apologize for my rant yesterday,it was the Cambridge Route,I was having trouble with,as I said when I tried it yesterday hardly any thing was showing no track buildings hardly any scenery and just a few signals, all the rest were just tiles.
This morning I started the game again and after it verified,I went to run a scenerio, clicked on Cambridge, and the scenerio I tried yesterday.
As I live in Peterborough Cambridge seemed a ideal route for me,and at my age I can remember the steam era I used to spend Saturday Mornings at Kings Cross,My favourite steam loco's were the A1\2's
This time when it finished loading every thing was there, all the scenery all the track all the buildings,I'm at a loss because I didn't change a thing.
I'm now off to buy some more suitable loco's for the route.
Mike

Yes, its suprising how often the steam download system drops things. I must do a verify myself soon, im sure its dropped some bits on my system as well.michaelhendle wrote:Hi

I may be splitting hairs here Stuart (nothing new then) but I think Michael's 'verify' was just the scenario database being checked as the game loaded, not a full blown check that all the game files existed. The game is pretty good at dealing with new additions but does still have the odd moment---clearing the cache and re-starting the game is still worthwhile after installing stuff, even though it's not 100% necessary.stuart666 wrote:I must do a verify myself soon,
If after an install of a Steam delivered item it appears that not all the files have been downloaded, then a verify can force those *missing* files to be added but it can also create problems---removing edits from default stock such as AP sound packs for example. There's still nothing to beat having a good. clean copy of the Assets and Contents folders which you can reference with your working installation if things seem to have gone 'walkies'.
