Please accept my apology for the late reply
I had a funeral to attend on Friday
Unfortunately TS2014 never ran first time on this machine
No need to apologise Stephen, and my condolences.

As the game has never run *properly* on first start we're not trying to fix something that's been broken but trying to sort out the initial configuration--a fair bit harder as it could well be something that's not really a TS issue, such as the higher performing graphics drivers not being loaded correctly.
The game does run, after a close and re-start so you have to decide if that little procedure causes you enough grief to make you really need to spend time investigating\re-installing stuff willy-nilly just in case\ or whether having to spend 20 seconds extra is something you can live with.

Before altering anything, if you do decide to investigate further, it's always best to see if you can narrow down the number of things that may need altering. Fortunately we have a couple of tools to hand that could help here; LogMate will record what the game is trying to load and at what point it can't load something so start that running, attempt to load the game and when it hangs the resultant log file should point to the culprit.
Window's own log files could assist too, if they show a failing module at the same time as the LogMate log it would further narrow the search down.

Personally, given that you expect to get your own machine back and running soon, I'd just live with it.

As the game and therefore any Flash related content eventually plays he doesn't have anything missing, nor anything of the *wrong* version.

Also, if you remove flash you end up with "Missing Texture" as the background on the menu screens and the animated loading screens no longer work (i.e use the original loading screens / TS20xx default loading image). So having no flash installed will NOT stop the game from running & or loading. :) (I uninstall flashplayer AX as it's for Internet Explorer - it used to be "Potentially insecure as it's activeX based, and I don't need it, as I use Chrome with it's built in version of flash  )

Good morning everyone
My Asus X54c lap top is now running again
I have managed to carry out a factory restore on it
At least I can get back to enjoying TS2014 again
Not having TSX features doesn't worry me at all yes they're nice to have but not essential
Thanks to all who posted on the subject of Damians lap top
Kind regards Stephen
