So it seems that DTG are the only people who could make this alteration.
Did you look here?
You should look in the "Assembler / Disassembler / Bytecodes" section.

Yep, tried all of those.

I have sent an email to DTG about this, with a calm and peaceful manner, but very much doubt I'll get a response.

Then (unfortunately) there is nothing we can do.
DTG has probably used some compiler of own creation.

I doubt it too.

I think a petition is in order. They're supposed to be encouraging creativity and improvement, but at the moment, they seem to be doing the opposite.

I'm not DTG biggest fan, however the Class 319 is a massive improvement compared to any other DLC they have released. What exactly do you mean when you say they seem to be doing the opposite?

My experience with DTG is not one of the best. I contacted them a few times regarding the development of community funded projects and never had a reply. They don't even take the time to write a reply that they received the ideas and I should hear their verdict in xxx days/weeks.

By using closed .out files. Everything else is accessible.

I understand that the sim can process a script file in .out format quicker and easier than one in .lua format.

If you are suggesting that DTG are keeping their 'cards close to their chest' on the features scripted within the .out file by using that format, then do not be surprised by that - 99% of the firms out there in any field of business will do that to remain one step ahead of their competitors.

Part of the fun for me is working out (with others help sometimes) how to get around such things.

I believe programs exist out there that can decompile an .out file, but the consensus I have picked up on is that these are unreliable.

Richard

They do not work → http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 1#p1696001

But if you know any other program which is not quoted here, we will appreciate if you could tell us.

RSC/DTG are going to be in a pickle if they cannot decompile an .OUT file :)

As holders of the source files, DTG wouldn't need to decompile their own compiled scripts, as Dave says. One of the reasons most scripts included are compiled is that the code is not open source, particularly as the script is now as much a part of overall product as the model and sounds.

It would seem that DTG are not interested, the sim is for anyone to build routes, rolling stock and scenarios so why have they built a duel voltage unit that in real life can use either overhead or 3rd rail pick so why not model it on just that, just because they have no plans to build a route that would use this they have penelised anyone else from building such route for these units to run on, i.e East Croydon to Bedford, although the 377 would work on this not everyone wants to run modern day scenarios, time periods are different to different people.
