Error #6 Overflow whilst building stock asset list

Post by stevay07 »

Morning,

I decided to get myself RW Tools yesterday so I can make QD consists among other things. Of course before you can do that you need to build an asset list. Here's where my problem is, it will load around 496 items then throw up an error.

Error #6 Overflow

Module: frmAssets
Procedure: GetName

I run RW Tools as Admin, I've cleared Blueprints, verified files.

My Railworks is installed in E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks (second HDD)

RW Tools is installed in the default location on the installer C:\Rail Utilities\RW_Tools (main HDD, where 7 is installed)

Also, when I try to make a custom QD consist within RW. It will start the loading bar and at around 9% I get the dump file error then RailWorks.exe has stopped responding.

Important PC Specs:
AMD A6 4 x 2.60GHz CPU
12GB DDR3 RAM
EVGA GeForce GTX650 SuperClocked

Does anyone have any idea whats going on or how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Most times when RW_Tools has had problems completing the asset list it was because of a faulty asset - it is worth checking the last asset that was loaded before the error. Look in the Tempfiles sub-folder in RW_Tools folder, and sort by Date Modified - the most recent file is probably causing the error.

I've found that after pressing OK to the boxes makes the search continue. Maybe there's a way to find out if there's any missing or faulty files from within RW Tools.

Thanks

There was a bug in RW_Tools which has not appeared before in this option, it was due to one of the loco files being so large that it overflowed what RW_Tools expected.

I have now fixed this and it should not happen again (I hope :-) ).

v5.0.56 is on my site now.

Hi Mike

Thanks for looking into this and resolving it. I will download your latest version tomorrow and give it a whirl!

This is a truly fantastic tool that makes things a lot quicker and simpler than if you did them the old fashion way. e.g. building Consists (currently making some QD consists, will continue tomorrow) and extracting those blasted .ap files.

Theres so much more I need to learn that you can do in this powerful tool.

Thanks

Hi All,

Just a quick post to say that the patch has indeed cured this problem and I am not having any other problems with RW Tools.

Thanks for your help and patching this error.
