Hi Art,

At Ladybank Station there is NO change of direction, neither do you move wagons about - you pass straight through going towards Newburgh and on the return you do a normal station stop but stopping with only the Coaches in the platform area. The only place where changing cab ends is needed is at Newburgh. I deliberately didn't say when to change cab ends, it can be done with only one change at Newburgh Station or several depending whether you use external views when going in and out of Newburgh Fish Dock. Also you do NOT go back to Balgonie Paper Mill. The path is pre-set for the whole activity, just follow the reverse points carefully.

Hope this helps,

Stephen

Hi Art,

Changing cabs is very easy when only using one loco. Follow these steps :-

1, the loco must be stationary, train brakes applied, engine brakes off
2, make sure you are in the normal front cabview
3, Press 1 on the main keyboard ( above Q ) and you should now be in the other cab
4, release the brakes, select Forward and carry on driving.

Yes, change ends after collecting the Fish Wagon.

Hope this helps,

Stephen

Hi Stephen

Thanks for a most enjoyable activity.

I cannot change cabs in this one either. I think that this is because D1705 does not have a reverse cabview.

I always drive from outside the cab, so it didn't worry me.

Hi MikeandDi & Art,

Sorry, I forgot that I had added the reverse and night cabviews. Unfortunately I don't have permission to upload these additions - they were done purely for my own benefit. So far no-one else has complained................yet!

Glad you enjoyed the activities.

Regards,

Stephen

Hi Art,

D1705 was originally supplied on the Burton-Derby cd and as it was produced before the advent of the Bin patch it didn't have a reverse cabview or a night cab. As I said in my previous post I had added my own reverse cabview and night cab which I had forgotten about when I made the activity - sorry. A suitable alternative is Howard Payton's Class 47 UKTS Id. 18244 or, if you have it there is a Class 47 cabview with the Making Tracks Greater Eastern Route.

Stephen

You could try this program to create a reverse cab for the loco

Rear Cab File Generator for MSTSbin 1.6 [36555 bytes] - rv_cvf_maker_1_3.zip
File ID: 15358 Date: 23 Oct 2006 - 2471 Downloads

Hi Art,

That rear cab generator looks a very useful program.

It is probably easier to uncouple everything on FIRST visit to Newburgh Station, pull forward until reverse point triggered, stop and then change cabs. Go back through the station and after next reverse point reverse down to the docks, couple to the fish van and return to the main line where you can then reverse into the station to collect the rest of your train. As soon as you are ready carry on towards Ladybank and Burntisland.

If you still get problems with the reverse cabview let me know and I'll see if I can sort out something else for you.

Regards,

Stephen
