Hi All

After a 2 month period with little to report(see blog post), we now present some progress images of Appleby East, on the Eden Valley Branch. Our thanks to Ben and Phil for the their work!

Hate to be a nitpicker but I've seen a picture from the 50s (in Peter Waltons's book on the EVR) showing Penrith station with the boards still on the trainshed over the CKPR line. I've no idea when they were removed to give the slightly lopsided view we've got now (although during electrification might be a good bet).

Really looking forward to this route.

Stainmore Route Announcement

I am absolutely delighted to announce that the Stainmore Route will now include Shap!!

As many of you will know, the Stainmore line ran east - west from Barnard Castle to Tebay, via Kirkby Stephen East. And, the Eden Valley line ran from Kirkby Stephen East to Penrith. That means a significant section of the WCML, between Tebay and Penrith, can be laid to form a triangle. This section goes over the famous climb of Shap(1in75 going north). This will no doubt widen the appeal of the route significantly. It will of course lengthen the build, but not by much, as the area between Tebay and Penrith is quite barren. The route name will also be changed to reflect the inclusion of Shap. All the track has been laid over the intended section of the WCML, making an exciting network of lines! Look out for future announcements, and progress reports.

With the exciting news that the climb of Shap is now to be a part of the Stainmore route, Ben provides some interesting information about this fascinating section of railway line:

Also find some new screenshots from the route, including Phil's excellent models for Clifton Moor station.

He's doing the Isle of Man aswell then
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)
