Steam

Post by oskarfourzero »

Hello,

i would like some help,

I went on to Steam to have a look to thinking of buying the London to Faversham route for £24.99 i noticed on the same page Train Simulator 2014 Standard Edition and reading that this includes,

Donner Pass,

Hamburg-Hanover route,

London to Faversham [including the Sheerness Route]

Train Simulator 2014,

All this for £24.00!!!

I already have TS2014 so my question is why would i buy the London-Faversham route for £24.99 on it's own when i can buy all this for the same price!! am i thick or what, would this lot install over what i already have in TS 2014, it looks like Xmas has come again a month late for me if it does :D

Or would it mess everything up?

Cheers,

Roger.

I'm not sure that the 'Standard Edition' contains the Sherness Branch - I thought only the 'Steam Edition' had that in. If you can wait a few months, there'll probably be an Easter sale where (if the last 2 sales are anything to go by), the Steam Edition was sold at something like 80% discount so it was about £4 for the stuff you've just mentioned. I bought it then and just got the DLC I didn't already have - a word of caution though if you do re-buy TS2014, then DON'T click the 'Install Game' button when the purchase goes through just let steam install the new stuff itself. A few people had their existing installations including 3rd party stuff removed.

Hello,

Thanks for the help,

Yes waiting until Easter and seeing what comes up maybe a good idea, going by how quick January has gone it will not be that long to wait :D

Cheers,

Roger.

PS, My mistake Foitybill regarding the Sheerness Branch!!

Hello,

Purchased the Standard Edition from Steam today and took your advice FoityBill and by the looks of it "so far,so good" have started with the LF 395 and to me anyway it's a great model as i'm used to mainly US Railroads and UK Branch Lines so belting along is certainly interesting!!

The other two routes that came with it seem to be ok and no problems with my other installed routes, but i did spend some time backing up the Asetts and Content folders "just in case"

I had thought of buying the other Edition which had the Sheerness Branch but i will wait until Easter and see what happens,

As i am retired i will have something to while away the time and as i live near Strood and Rochester i told the wife i will be going on the platforms with a notebook!!

Cheers,

Roger.
