In the 1960's, there would have been a couple of Devon General AEC Regent V's down there too on Route Number 2 (Exeter to Newton), with their drivers and conductors enjoying a yarn and a cup of tea whilst looking out to sea! They always seemed to have a few minutes "recovery time" to spend at Dawlish.

I see the old game engine letting the side down in the screenshots with the quality of the water graphics...that new engine can't come soon enough!

Pacer looks great, and could pass for a 144 as well if given a suitable livery. That the fan be switched on is a really nice little detail, and the passenger view looks really great. :D

This is shaping up to look like a lovely little route...

... but to anyone with half an interest in UK railways, the sea wall section without the banks must feel like an ambition not fully realised.

Which got me wondering - is Exeter to Paignton a teaser for TS2015, with the remainder packaged up with the full version in the autumn???

This approach allows RSC to put a marker down on the Devon mainline, without the time investment of doing the whole route

I would certainly hope so but sadly I would almost guarantee this is not the case. The history of RSC has shown that they seemingly do not create routes with further extensions in mind. Their DLC policy seems to be entirely random and they just pick snippets of routes then move onto a new area without ever looking back.

Padd to Oxford, Newcastle to York, Woodhead, Portsmouth Direct are just a few of the RSC routes where there have been lengthy discussions about them being 'finished off', added to or extended but none of them ever have.

I hope the 143 comes out with more than the Neon scheme, to say I hate those colours would be an understatement.

Well, I've just been doing a bit of research into traffic patterns on the line, and if I am willing to forego the semaphore signalling (which I am) plus no doubt a few other things perhaps, then there is plenty of scope for some interesting and hopefully involving mid-80's blue scenarios - it is suprising how many of us must still have used the train to go on holiday at that time. All the stock needed is present in the sim too, so my viewpoint on this route has now markedly shifted.

If I have one wish, then it is that the sidings at Goodrington have been included. My gut instinct says that they will be there, hopefully I will prove myself to be correct :) .

Kind Regards,

Richard

Looking forward to this route, just wish it went further to at least Plymouth, all the way down to Penzance would be even better as that's the usual route I travel, from Weston down to St Ives & being able to drive down to penzance would be awesome :D

Ah yes, but they went to the "trouble" of creating chained / linked scenarios with TS2014...

It would make business sense if they did start linking some routes because it may well increase sales. People would be more tempted to buy a route they are not particularly interested in if it meant it would be an extension to something they already have.

Wow, I'm quite impressed with the screenshots of Class 143 on Engine Driver. I cannot wait for this little route to come out, should be a nice little drive.

That's good - need the 91 & 92 for WCML-N :)
91? Don't u mean ECML? Im pretty sure there is only one 91 everyday to Glasgow with a 91? I mite be wrong :-?
No WCML-N for the 91.
I travelled behind one last year from Edinburgh to Carlisle :)

Reading through engine driver, it says "Coach class? The Class 153's passenger compartment offers simple accommodation." on one of the screenshots. Has the writer made a mistake here?

That's the interior of a 143 (or 144)

Yep but it says 153 not 143.
