You should be able to delete the textures I made.
After this afternoons update to the route, the missing textures seem to be in the .ap file

Patch is out for Riviera; still waiting for DTG to move the damn bridge on GEML a few inches to the left

Is there any way to apply these updates to a clone of the route....

I've got track down from Cowley Br to Okehampton, so dont want to start from scratch

Object selection in Exeter Riverside has been my main gripe so far - tempted to delete the Red Cow crossing sound

Hi rkko1

Don't totally rely on this but I believe the update can be applied to the cloned copy but you may need to rename the cloned copy back to it's original name.

Hopefully someone will either agree, or correct me!

By the way, I have sent you a PM.

Cheers,

Geoff

I too have been extending track (down to Exmouth in my case) and would like to apply the patch to my clone (next stop Plymouth, with Devon's Barnstaple route in the offing I've decided not to go north). I'm not sure I understand how to apply the patch to my clone though; any more details?

You don't need to delete the crossing sounds, just raise it up to significant altitude and perhaps off to the west a bit. That cures the asset selection and placement problem at both Red Cow and Paignton.

Absolutely delighted to see RSC have now included the iconic 'Teignmouth Spey' and mural. For me this was the big piece of the jigsaw that was missing and it's addition now completes the route nicely.

They've actually done a good job of the Spey too, trees/bushes in the right place and even down to the dumpy bags of building materials next to the old shack. Last time I went to the real thing they were there!

Well done on this RSC, good job.

It would be very hard to advise since I have no idea what DTG has done to the route, the Teignmouth sign may be just the tip of an iceberg. I recall seeing a notice a few months ago where they said they were correcting the the ability to place rolling stock in various locations and stuff like that, so there is probably a lot of hidden stuff.

If you wanted to update the copy of the route you are modifying it would be somewhat of a project. First you would have to find which files have been modified with a date/size comparison. Then you would have to compare the content of new files with the originals to find the modified/added/removed parts and then copy and paste that into the routes you are creating. Alternatively you separate/copy the new content you have personally created in the bin files in the route you are modifying then paste that content into a copy of the updated DTG route. It shouldn’t be difficult, but you will need to have some file comparing utility like Ultracompare to do the job, there is probably some free stuff on the web. You should be prepared to do this over and over as DTG keeps tweaking, or leave it for now and do it only once when you have completed your project.

Further to Mike's message above, here is the announcement from the facebook page:

There is a patch going out this afternoon for The Riviera Line; the patch addresses:

Floating scenery issues
New scenery assets added at Sprey Point and Exeter
A problem in placing rolling stock at Exeter and Paignton
Missing winter textures at Paignton and Exeter now resolved.

This will download and install as normal from Steam. You may need to restart Steam to force the update to begin.

Hope this helps, but be warned , there is a more significant update being applied on Monday 19th May and DTG advise backing up files before then!

On Monday 19th, we will be releasing an update to Train Simulator 2014 that addresses a number of known bugs that may be affecting gameplay. Included with this update are fixes to core technology that may be causing some users to experience disappearing ‘green ticks’ on scenarios. This update contains:

1. A fix for a crash when multithread reading InputMapperBlueprints because it wasn’t thread safe

2. A fix for stopping clearing cache recreating the SDBCache.bin as the game exits.

We are giving you prior notice of this update so you can back-up any third party files or self-created files that may be affected by this update. We strongly recommend you back-up these files ahead of the update, which will be downloaded the next time you open Steam from Monday onwards.

We will keep you updated on Monday when this update will be released.

Cheers,

Geoff

Larch. There is a fairly easy way to do this, as you need to compare the two folders of your, updated, original route to your clone route.
I do this all the time with a program called FOLDERMATCH, you will find it here.
http://www.foldermatch.com/
and here
http://www.saltybrine.com/
It needs care as it is a powerful program and can do a lot of harm as well as save hours.

As you will see from the screen shots you set the program to compare two directories and then ask it to either make both directories the same (a two way transfer of files) or to only update one directory (the clone) with any (new) files that are in the original directory and not in the clone directory (a single direction process)
Because you have been working on your clone directory the latter process is the one you want otherwise your original route will start to look like your clone ! The program will tell you that you have files in the clone version that are not in the original version, which of course you ignore.
Foldermatch has different critria by which it compares (size) (date) etc so can even be used to update files where the filename has stayed the same and only the date of the file has changed
Cheers

Can anyone spot what the new scenery assets at Sprey Point are? The only thing I noticed were a few trees now on the beach. Am I missing something ?

Teignmouth Spey is an 'island' site that juts out to sea halfway along the seawall section between Teignmouth station and the first tunnel to the east.

The iconic thing that makes this site significant is the 30 foot long by 6 foot high white wall upon which are mounted giant letters spelling out Teignmouth. There is also an old shack on the island and a couple of trees/bushes. These are all faithfully recreated by RSC so if you can't see them then something is wrong.

I must admit I was expecting to see something like that but although I know I have the update I don't appear to have anything new at Sprey point. Just wanted to check others had before trying to see if I can find what has gone wrong. Thanks.

Hello,

As 'jimmyshand' pointed out, it is there. I just checked myself and followed his good directions and saw it, albeit from the outside view. Must admit, I wouldn't have noticed it had I not followed Jimmy's directions.

OK this is interesting as I had 3 files sitting in the scenery folder outside the .ap (can't think why but I suppose I may have amended something). Anyhow delete them and it appears. Reinstate them and it is gone. Now wondering what other updates on other routes I have maybe never got to see.
