1. It looks nowhere near as good as some of the more recent UK and German routes
2. There's no point motors on the points
3. Missing speed warning boards
4. MK2 coaches have MK3 sounds applied

Still the best UK route to date though so thank you Keith!

Blimey. This is good. Scenario heaven for everyone from the blue days, to the present. Looks, and feels, the business. Only niggles so far: the throttle response on the 87, the power handle pauses a bit too long in the notch up/down positions. I preferred the flicking of the 86. Hardly a game breaker though, just my preference. The 47 sounds as if something's missing from the external sounds. No exhaust rasp. Internal sounds are cracking for a default offering, and the simulation is superb. The sounds will probably be replaced with the AP 47 Pro Pack once a patch is out, so again, not a game breaker.

Anyway. Only been playing for fifteen minutes, so back to exploring! I've got some prototypical 80's flask trains to make up using JT's FNA wagons, and Fastline's CAR and HEA/HBA packs.

I had to do it - downloaded all my DMU DLC from various locations, and decided to take a Quick Drive - Lancaster Platform 2 to Morecambe in a Class 142, a journey I've made countless times (albeit ending at Bare Lane usually!) over the years.

The area is instantly recognisable, complete with some minor things I expected not to be present being there! I don't think Keith could have done a better job of the area without creating every individual building. Next task is a run up the entire line :)

Did EMU's work this far up in BR days? If so I would love to see a 304 appear, unfortunately the most likely source of one of those has gone!

Peter
Well, such is the reputation of the guy, anything by Sir Keith of Ross is instapurchase for me... Looking forward to seeing this later...

As for old EMUs - I have a black and white photograph (I will try and scan it in) of a Class 310 EMU at Lancaster in the late 1970s/early 1980s. I need to check the details, but I believe it was on a relief working of some sort.

Edit - Rfletcher72 has identified a possible genuine train service... All we need then is the Class 310 or 304 and away we go... Ding ding.

Let's be honest, you have left yourself wide open here by the contradiction you make.

As for perceived errors, if they are there (not got the route yet) then I am sure Keith will patch them. You will always find glitches in every route, just view them with a bit of perspective. My first run in GEML and within 60 seconds I found a floating AWS magnet. I didn't huff and puff and blow the house down, I made a note and fixed it. If it was something inherent that made the route, to me unplayable, then I would see things differently.

Proportion and perspective :) .

+1 for this... Point motors are easy to place, and even a freeware patch on here can do...

Neutral sections "as well as accurate braking which is affected by the length of the train." Nice one, Kromaatikse!

Also, I think I've spotted your 'hidden feature' (read the manual :) ).

Finally, 16 bundled scenarios - bravo!

Mr Mackay might be interested to know that Simsig's Carlisle sim has 5 days worth of 1979-80 WTT for the Carnforth-Carlisle-Dumfries section.

Further to this Peter, I have ventured into the 'black hole of Calcutta' and retrieved some WTT's for the route.

The 1974/5 edition shows a M-S 0917 Crewe to Preston service booked for an EMU. SX and during the summer months this extended to Lancaster, from where it returned ECS to Preston and stabled. The return working was 1500 from Preston to Crewe. Originating from Crewe, this would almost certainly have been a Class 304 set.

By 1981/2, the only booked appearances of an EMU at Preston were a) a summer dated SO working, ECS from Soho (Birmingham) ready to work a 0935 service to New Street, and b) another SO summer dated service, the 1405 from Crewe which then returned ECS from whence it came. a) could well have been a 310 unit.

And we must not forget that by 81/82 we had the up and down workings of an class 370 APT set, if it was functioning of course :-? .

Mr Mackay struggles trying to run that sim on his own, it's manic. :D

Will be looking to purchase this route as soon as I can afford it. A 3rd part for my 1M10 Mail scenarios is an obvious choice to start with..

Surely you are joking? That's the biggest contradiction of the year. Not as good as recent routes but the best UK route so far?

As for the missing point motors comment...
Based on looks. It's the best because of the scenario possibilities.
