I agree, it does - a payware quality release with a totally rebuilt model and all the trimmings (and some newly developed trimmings) would be great in 2014.. if only

Definitely agree with this one, a GWR or Southern route would be top of my wish list.

Happy New Year all...

Top 5 for 2014 -

1) Waterloo to Salisbury/Exeter (set in the 1970s to 90s)
2) Crewe to Holyhead and various branches (1970s to 90s)
3) MML Pancras to Leicester (1970s to 90s)
4) Something West Highlandish... (would need to be set in steam or diesel loco days - I would be bored to death driving a 156 to Fort Bill and would probably play it once there and back... sorry).

Hmm...2014

I'm actually happy with the software itself, it's stable(ish), and is running better than it has ever run for me.

So this just leaves add-ons/DLC

In this order of priority:

1.) A good Italian route, maybe Roma to Firenze. This would offer both a high-speed as well as commuter lines (running alongside each other) through the beautiful Toscana hills.
2.) West Highland Mainline. We have the stock for this, but the beautiful route needs to be done.
3.) Newcastle - Edinburgh
4.) Hertford Loop + 313

Some proper progress on my "two" route projects...

... and, selfishly, some more stock to go on them ;-)

For Llantrisant a 5_6 for backdated BR blue coal / steel ops, and for steam era, well where to start!? A 14xx & trailer, 42xx/5205/72xx heavy tanks and 28xx...

For Exeter, Southern N and Z class, and an up to date set of SW England diesels

Yes, this.

Actually I wouldn't mind seeing a new mantra in route building where rather than an A to B routes are given more options, think WCML-N. Focus on the ECML. Scenery on the Hertford Loop (expecting a Sheerness sort of thing here though) would give us the ability to run freights and Hertford loop services. And really, how much effort would it have been to extend the stud at Hitchin as far as Letchworth? Maybe even have Moorgate as well.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...

I too would have liked to have seen these on the route, but it's not the end of the world. Here's hoping we will see them added to Workshop by some talented soul?

I actually thought of doing the Moorgate Branch as an addition to the ECML. Sadly you can't do it without breaking into non-ECML assets.

I would go along with
[1] Hope Valley line but also
[2] Manchester Central to Derby via Chinley & Matlock. The two routes have a common section between Hazel Grove/New Mills South Jn to Chinley North Jn.
[3] Plymouth - Penzance in BR 70s/80s would be good with GWR Semaphore Signals and freight traffic on the branches.
[4] Manchester Victoria - Hebden Bridge - Mirfield - Wakefield - Leeds/York

Happy new year everyone!

Personally, i would like to see;

1- A Mk2 DBSO for GEML, E-G and some Network Rail trians.

2-A class 56. I know that we have one, but i would like one that Richard Armstrong would be able work his magic on!

3-A class 58.

4-The class 89. I know it is a bit of a niche one, but it would be fabulous for the ECML, especially when Creative Rail release their modern version of their Peterborough-Donny route.

5-A Wales based route. I don't really know anything about Wales rails, but i adore the fabulous Wales & Borders and South West Wales routes that we have!

Cheers

I have a single request route-wise, and that would be the Great Central through Rugby, Leicester, and up to Nottingham, and even further north if possible. If it was set in 1950s-60s period it would be perfect for quite a broad variety of former LNER, LMS and even GWR steam locos, BR Standards, and then BR Green Diesels and DMUs - a lot of which are already available. Also it might encourage 3rd party developers to look at more steam (hint: Royal Scot would be nice  ). It would also mean that the Midlands area of England is represented, which seems to be missing so far in Payware DLC.

Oh well, I can hope! :D

They look quite nice. Have to keep an eye on them, hopefully will come out with both Southern and BR sets.

Cheers Ron
They will be in Southern, BR Blood & Custard and BR Southern Green. This will be my largest set of coaches yet including a full Bournemouth set. Keep and eye on the screenshots.

First and still the only time I have been on that line was going with my father just before 1960, it was steam hauled and we left from Helensburgh to Ft William to pick up a car and return it to Alexandria, It stands in my mind as it was the first time I went to a public WC, I was about 3 years old at the time. It is still my earliest memory of being on a train, I do remember getting the steam train to Glasgow from Balloch a few times but that was after going to Ft.William.

Oh wow! That is looking very impressive. Is this the Freeware route that's WIP planned to run north from Nottingham?
