Dover Western Docks Area

Post by xguerra »

As it was time for a release I thought I'd put up some shots.

The route covers the complex at Dover Western Docks, plus Dover Priory and west into Folkestone, with Folkestone Central and Folkestone Harbour.
The era is not absolute but centred around the late 1980s into the 1990s when BR Network Southeast was born and the eastern Cross-Channel Ferry terminal with its loco shed was set to be closed and demolished.

The route gives you an opportunity to run passenger trains from Dover to Folkestone, boat trains into both Harbours and shunt cross-channel freight around the Docks, with the added functionality of being able to shunt it on to a ferry boat itself.

I recommend (though they are not required for the free roam scenario) some French ferry vans which are very fitting for the ferry complex. http://www.railsim-fr.com/forum/index.p ... howfile=10

I may extend the route further afield in the future but at the moment it isn't a priority. As you can probably see from the shots, painting cliffs is my greatest weakness.

Enjoy nonetheless and it should be up in the library by the weekend.

Looks very nice, I'll be sure to check it out when it's released. I really like the effect you have achieved with the iconic chalk cliffs personally :)

Brilliant work :D
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

I live just outside Folkestone, and I can't wait to tear down the Tramway towards the Harbour. Hope you put some buffers in.

Hello all a nice route for the southern fans is it going to be extended any further ?.
I used a brittania loco and had a little run up and down then I had a problem which is nothing to do with this route,I found I could not uncouple the coach next to the tender so tried another loco but same thing does anyone know why this is happening please.
