serz
serz not working in TS2014. having noticed that the RSC class 365 can reach 110mph i have decided to reduce this to the 100mph maximum of the class but on unzipping the ap. file and running the simulation bin file through serz to make a XML file to edit, after editing i ran the XML through serz again but it will not update the bin. file to make the changes, can this now not be done in TS2014

Re: serz
I copied serz and placed it on my desktop, as I had done prior to TS2014. Also from the Railworks file, I now had to copy 'stlport_vc10.5.2.dll' and 'zlibwapi.dll' and place these there too. I find this works OK for me and is certainly less risky than moving stuff into and around the Railworks folder.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.

Re: serz
Has anyone tried using serz on post TS2014 releases as i have now tried to change the class 321 again will not update the bin file although it will make XML file, works fine on releases before TS2014 does it having anything to do with ap. files as both items that do not work have been installed in the ap. format which i have unzipped all files that that are not in ap format work fine as they did before the release of TS2014.
i have also tried coping the files into a TS2013 backup copy and tried using serz in there but still will not copy back to bin files

Re: serz
Is your .bin file marked 'Read-only' ? Right click on it and select properties to see the attributes. Unclick 'Read-only' if its checked. I think by default all the .ap files extract with the 'Read-only' attribute.

As Richard pointed out to you above, Serz.exe requires that the 2 .dll files which it uses ( 'stlport_vc10.5.2.dll' and 'zlibwapi.dll' ) are in the same folder as the serz.exe. Copy them from the Railworks folder and it works just like it used to (actually it is a lot better as it will also unpack/repack the locomotive .geopcdx and very large .tgpcdx files, if you rename them as .bin files)

Re: serz
And this solves my KRS Bin Convert problem too
- needed the 'stlport_vc10.5.2.dll' and 'zlibwapi.dll's in the Windows/System32 folder.
When did this change come about?

Re: serz
Yes that works fine as serz.exe is still in the same folder as its .dll files. Just depends upon what you are using serz.exe for, in the case of some other utilities which call serz.exe it can be necessary to copy it.emacph wrote:I always make a shortcut to serz.exe (in the railworks directory) and put that on the desktop, and it works fine. No need to copy all the .dll files.
