RSC A4...

Re: RSC A4...
You are quite right about the RSC A4's capabilities. I managed to maintain 76/78 climbing to Potters Bar on half regulator and 15% cut off with 9 on and a steady full head of steam. Would have been almost impossible in steam days when trains toiled up that grade at 60/65 max. Still it augurs well for Stoke Bank although I have had a job getting 90 mph with an A4 on the Newcastle - York stretch, but not much in the way of favourable gradients though.
Re: RSC A4...
Well I am running on Creative Rail Doncaster to Peterborough. 12 Teaks in tow and so far got only 85 mph but still not reached Stoke bank.
on another note I have adjusted the Bass and turned up the volume and the sounds are better than "standard"
Is it me or do the coupling rods on most steam locos look low detail? Is that to accommodate their constant movement? Worst looking part on most steam models?

Re: RSC A4...
4464 Bittern (in real life) averaged 72mph start stop and topped 96mph last week on "The Tyne Tees Streak" from Newcastle to York, the RSC physics are out I believe but it just goes to show how amazing the A4's are and how they blow every other express loco out of the water IMO. This was with 12 odd coaches on too.
