May be bigger, may be not bigger.. Last time (summer sale) they were worse after first day.. And on daily sale was only base game (no DLC).

I am thinking about Woodhead+77 or GEML+90 (for now Class 90 win but I am still thinking : )

I've just seen that Falmouth is also £4.99 that's a 75% discount along with the Fowler 4F, NSE Class 47 and the original core routes. Practically every decent steam era route requires IOW and/or Falmouth so I think I'm actually buying that as I have IOW already.

Go to your Steam TS2014 home page and click on DLC and it well bring up everything (I Think) that's on sale.

And that should be from the beginning - OLD DLC should be discounted more and more every year.. : )

Could please anyone compare Woodhead to GEML (without excellent Class 90). Which one is better?

My favourite route: WCML-N (followed by SECML and WLOS) Favourite locos: Class 86, DB BR 143, 56XX, Voyagers and JT Class 67

Sadly I don't have the GEML. But I do have Woodhead and it is a fantastic view into the past, junctions and point work all over the shop, sidings everywhere for goods and trip workings and gradients aplenty for trains to make hard work of. One of my favourite routes.

Depends on what you like if you like doing freight then go for Woodhead as it has some very large yards and more of them as it's set in the 50's. If you want to do high speed stuff then GEML is for you.

Indeed.

Another example...

Pacific Surfliner at 40% = £14.99
Pacific Surfliner & BNSF ES44DC at 50% = £14.99

Were the daily deals rumoured for this sale or the winter sale?

Was no rumours about daily deals, just that discounts would be carried forward in general steam wide from autumn to winter sale. RSC's facebook simply states they have daily deals all week.

Ah right, sorry misread your post whilst looking at Steam.

I take it the discounts will stay fixed until the end of the sale, so it would be worth waiting and seeing what the daily deals bring?

Maybe, entirely up to you, either way the 40-75%s on DLC will probably stay in place, I can't recall winter steam sales having flash sales or having large discounts on railworks stuff in the previous years, mostly just the summer steam sales.

Myself I've picked up the GEML bundle since its practically a free GEML 90 and also the WSR on its own since I didn't really want the diesel bundle and didn't really see the point of paying extra for two things I already have anyway.

I may still get the 87, but may just hold off and stick with the Shap 87 in BR blue which seems to be forthcoming with Keith's route soon.
