Trespassers
The issue of passengers wandering across the tracks has been raised in a number of varied threads of late but I've lost track of where and when so I thought it might be useful to give the problem a thread of it's own. I for one consider that it deserves it.
More than a few times recently I've been ten or fifteen minutes into a scenario and have obtained that blissful state of total immersion that makes this sim such a joy to spend time in. Then a figure levitates across the track in front of me, shattering the illusion to such an extent that once or twice I've simply pulled the plug. Not a good state of affairs and not a happy customer experience.
I'd be interested to know if:
1. Anyone has raised a ticket with RSC support about this?
2. Anyone has had anything useful by way of reply to said ticket?
3. Anyone can point to any official RSC statement acknowledging the problem?
4. Anyone can point to any official RSC statement outlining progress on a fix.
Call me an old cynic but I'm fully expecting the answers to be Yes, Not really, No and Ditto!
Cheers,
1S81

Re: Trespassers
I think people really need to get some screenshots off to RSC about this problem. It's not like they are only charging a couple of pounds for a route they are charging £20 - £25 and for that kind of money the standard needs to be a little higher and this should not happen.

Re: Trespassers
Agree it shouldn't be happening. It seems to have started with the TS2014 update. Before that there was the odd issue here and there, Croy for example was notorious for it, but it was at least confined to the platforms themselves.
Clearly something was changed that caused the issue to arise so it would seem to me to be a relatively easy job to narrow down what exactly has gone wrong. Presumably it would be an equally easy job to fix. While we've lived with things going unfixed before, WCML-N buffers etc, etc, but this new issue is having a direct and serious impact upon the games playability.

Re: Trespassers
DavidVI had some really good screenshots of issues with GEML. One of the most recent routes to be launched by RSC and one of the worst.
Can still see that group of people walking down the tracks at Liverpool street station like the living dead!!

Re: Trespassers
Instead of contacting RSC, perhaps we should be advising British Transport Police?

Re: Trespassers
It's happened again! Twenty minutes in on L-B.
It's great that people can find the humour in it and fair play to them that do. But when I add it all up, counting a graphics card I didn't otherwise need, I'm knocking on the door of a four figure spend on this game and am struggling to find this issue amusing.
Final straws appear to be the issue of the day on this forum. I may have found mine.

Re: Trespassers
Like 1S811985 I have spent a lot of money on this game over four figures. This is money I took away from another hobby because I'm intrested in railways. And like him I'm finding this to be one issue too far. It's one thing to have passengers walking in the air along the platforms but to have them floating above the track in front of the train or walking in the air under a bridge on something that is called a simulator is sub standard. These are not pocket money add-ons they are almost the cost of a full game. RSC have been going for what six years now and after that length of time they should really have this game nailed and most bugs removed. The only way we have any hope of getting this fixed is with screenshots sent to RSC without the screenshots they will just bury their heads and claim nothing is wrong with this game.

Re: Trespassers
Surely all you simmers have learnt the meaning of RSC : Rich; Stubborn; Could'nt Care Less. There is NO WAY RSC will even acknowledge this problem or fix it - I'm sure it will have to be down to you geniuses out there to sort it. If only I had the knowledge, I'd do it myself. I too have spent well over 4 figures on this hobby & like you guys, its infuriating seeing these phantoms of the railways cropping up all over the place. Would be better to get shot of all humans in the sim until this issue is fixed.

Re: Trespassers
I have noticed the same problem on the S-ECML from JT.
Most of the stations are ok but at some you just have the heads appearing thru the platform surface.

Re: Trespassers
Just sent my support request. If I believe what I read from RSC on the Steam TS2014 forum, then they collate all such requests, determine if it's a widespread problem and then fix it. Hmmm.......
I find that a sense of humour helps to dull the pain!

Of course you could give them a chance to fix it first without making glib statements!equiglobal wrote:Surely all you simmers have learnt the meaning of RSC : Rich; Stubborn; Could'nt Care Less. Re: Trespassers
I agree, I have also spent serious pound notes on this game. No one was mocking the issue, but any anger/disappointment you have should surely be channelled at RSC? It is really disappointing that they dont seem to want to do something about it, and I think it got worse since TS2014.1S811985 wrote:It's happened again! Twenty minutes in on L-B.

It doesnt look professional for sure. The fact we have passengers walking on the platform makes it look realistic but just ONE passenger out of place so to speak ruins the whole realism
