Define tight curve ;)
For speeds greater than 100mph, they are tight curves... The difference in speed between non-tilt and EPS is sometimes as great a 30mph... Where EPS is set at 125, and non-tilt at 95mph... This I remember from my days studying the Cab Ride videos of the Pendolino's running from Preston to Glasgow.... Lot's of blind corners, narrow cuttings... This time though, I do hope it represents a very close representation of the route, as WCML-N seems rather flat when comparing to cab ride videos... In my opinion of course

As for a straight end to end run, in Virgin Pendolino's, they usually stop 2-3 times over this stretch. Freight workings will be good, with plenty passing loops, and of course Shap. And then not to mention the branch lines that was spoken of... Basically, I think this will be the more versatile route when comparing to WCML-N....

I love comparing our main line standards to European standards. Each main line out of Sydney faces gradients of 1:40 (and 1 at 1:33) and curves of down to 200m. No running at 160kph here!

The one problem I can see with this route is, if it uses new features it'll make WCML look a little dated - the problem with all such content but far from easy to fix.

I'm looking forward to the route... Though I will probably be running freight only, and loco-hauled. I just can't get excited about the Class 390 at all - sorry. The only good thing about them is the very realistic looking passenger view in the first class coach. Apart from that, they bore me to death.

Another good gradient to run a Class 50 railtour over... and pairs of 37s, 31s and 20s etc.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Lune Gorg as well - hopefully there will be snow on them mountains during Winter and Spring time.
That .geopdx file is not a code used by the Rebel Alliance...

You can tell it's work in progress. There are three builders skips near the middle of the picture.! :)
Cheers,

Excellent video, does that confirm why the BR Blue Class 87 was spotted on the RSC office wall so long ago I wonder? I can't wait to try the route regardless of what comes bundled with it anyway, I have the 220/1s, 390, 325, 86, 66v2 and 70 to run over there so I have plenty already

it's going to be a good Christmas. Also this 87 will have some advanced features, from what I have been told. Including a fix for the top speed.

Now that's how I remember WCML from my youth when I regularly travelled between Glasgow and Liverpool. BR blue locomotives everywhere, happy memories. Coaching stock looks new in that video also.

I know the route has been showcased with various different stock...

... But BR Blue era would be fab :-)

I wonder ... Do RSC have an eye to other future releases that would sit well on a blue route...? There is, of course, the new Whistler model....

might need to succumb to JTs 20s and wish for a pair of rats

I hope the Blue 87 they're packaging with this has the nameplate in the right place. Would make reskinning 10x easier!

And if they made the reskin blueprint correctly reference more than one texture then that would be 10 times easier, so 100 times easier altogether

Thank God they got the Nameplate right!

Also, some more pictures on the Kross Rails FB page showing the 87 and some BR Blue MK3 Sleepers as well.

(Unfortunately, non-Facebook users won't be able to access them, so I didn't bother with the link.)

Strangely, KRoss Rails has been set up as a person on FB, rather than a page/organisation, so one can't "like" it.
