For speeds greater than 100mph, they are tight curves... The difference in speed between non-tilt and EPS is sometimes as great a 30mph... Where EPS is set at 125, and non-tilt at 95mph... This I remember from my days studying the Cab Ride videos of the Pendolino's running from Preston to Glasgow.... Lot's of blind corners, narrow cuttings... This time though, I do hope it represents a very close representation of the route, as WCML-N seems rather flat when comparing to cab ride videos... In my opinion of courseNatvander wrote:

As for a straight end to end run, in Virgin Pendolino's, they usually stop 2-3 times over this stretch. Freight workings will be good, with plenty passing loops, and of course Shap. And then not to mention the branch lines that was spoken of... Basically, I think this will be the more versatile route when comparing to WCML-N....
