Route_Riter for Windows 7

Post by ImCanadian »

I am confused with this program of Route_Riter after installed them into C: Program Files not C: (x86) Program Files. My operating system is Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium with SP-1. I am not sure if that is correct to install this program. Anyway I got the errors and look below:

Route_Riter 7.6
Version 7.6.26

An Error No. 75 Path/File access occurred while loading the main Route_Riter screen.
Check Reports\Startup.log for possible errors.

Invalid character entered in the FILTER string ( got 3 times )

Run-time error '9':
Subscript out of range

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am wondering if I did not install them properly. Your help would be appreciated for this problem of Route_Riter.

Thank you,

John

Hi John,
PLEASE don't put anything concerning MSTS into Program Files or Program Files (x86), unless you've set up the appropriate permissions. Both folders are treated the same by Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8!

Ged,

Let me ask you clearly what you just said in your message? You mean that Route_Riter should be in the folder of MSTS? I did installed the program of Microsoft Train Simulator in C:\MSTS. So I hope that I understood you that Route_Riter should be in the folder of MSTS? Will wait for your answer.

Cheers,

John

Ged is saying that with W7 it is best to locate Route Riter outside of C:\Program Files. Please don't put it in your MSTS folder.

My apology to you both because I am not thinking right what to do with to install them? Yes I did put them in C:\Program Files. And I need to remember that after click the icon of Route_Riter on desktop and make sure myself to right click to Run as administrator. I will have to make a habit to make sure to right click to Run as administrator for some of the programs.

Thank you,

John

Hi, if you right click the program and choose properties > compatability tag. you can set the program to run as admistrator and you only have to do it once. :)
