The Cache and crashes to desktop.

Post by jarmstro »

Here's something I have found to be true:

If, after every scenario, quick drive or editor session I clear the cache and restart Railworks I never ever get a crash. Ever. The next scenario or session runs perfectly.

If, on the other hand, I close or finish a scenario or anything else and start a new one, without clearing the cache, I am prone to an inevitable CTD at some point sooner or later.

What is going on here? There is surely something wrong with the way the sim handles the cached files? Is there a way to disable it? I do not mind longer loading times. Something's remaining in memory that shouldn't.

Cheers

Historically there were some command line codes that relate to the blueprint cache - see here

No idea if they still/ever worked though.
