It is worth using RW Tools to swap out a loco you don't have for one that you do - you have a good selection already, more than me :)
You can clone a scenario and change any of the locos and stock for something else - like if you prefer driving a 66 to a 47 you just change them.

I just run the loco on any route it could be seen on - Newcastle - York Modern, The Mayflower Line, Paddington - Oxford Electrified to name just 3.
And the loco also goes where no 90 has gone before M2A & H2H are great routes. :)
I think it's because a lot of people want the full near realistic experience straight away, they don't wanna mess around making activities or use quick drive. I'm the same really, I have only used quickdrive twice.. But then again I create my own activities :)
I don't bother making activities or scenarios when one already exists. I just use RW Tools to change the player loco to something else.
I have three or four versions of some scenarios each with a different player loco.

Well, I'm one of those people. I mostly enjoy driving, and for the driving to be enjoyable it needs to be immersive and occasionally challenging. That means having a scenario with AI 'scenery' traffic, some 'interfering' AI to cause a few non-green signals, and quite probably a timetable - free roam definitely doesn't count.
I've written two scenarios of my own, and I'm in no rush to do another any time soon (I find it frustrating and very time-consuming) so for me to enjoy a loco I've purchased requires scenarios to be available for it.
Conversely, I'm very appreciative of those who do take the time to write interesting scenarios so that those of us who don't have the inclination can play with our collection in new and varied ways. :)
I totally agree with "

The GWML 'Chasing Yellows' is a good example - following a slightly slower train so you keep getting checked. But I have 3 versions of this scenario, the default HST, a Class 86 & Mk2's and a Class 90 & Mk2's.
And because of the good work done by the people creating the scenarios I will download and clone them to give me some variation to the player loco.

For example I have a 3 pack of 360 activites on UKTS, a 90 activity, a two part freight activity and two 170 activities, all for GEML. These are the bare minimum require the 360, 90 pack, Powerhaul 66, London to Brighton, UKTS Freewarepack EMU's DMU's trams, 317 GA reskin from UKTS and 379 reskin from UKTS. (I forgot WCML-N but this is a requirement of the 90 pack)

To me that is the minimum required to make GEML a decent experience. A few of my activities also use the other 66 or 70 packs for varied freight and wagons and some the 86 pack.
I don't have any freeware stuff right now because I just purged my entire game by starting a fresh download from Steam to a new Railworks folder. I was experiencing an increasing number of things not working (missing cab lights, errors with missing skins and stock, and basic crashes for no reason - example: my wonderful JT Class 20 was becoming unusable which might be down to sound or light packs I'd latterly added). I own most UK routes and the stock that comes with them, including (all in their default skins) these UK diesel/electrics:

Class 02
Class 03
Class 08
Class 20
Class 37
Class 40
Class 47
Class 55
Class 66
Class 66 (v2)
Class 67
Class 70
Class 76
Class 77
Class 86
Class 101
Class 111
Class 153
Class 158
Class 166
Class 170
Class 360
Class 377
Class 380
Class 390
Class 395
Class 421
Class 423
Class 450
Class 466
Class 483
HST
Permaquip
Super Express Concept

Sorry about that list! I stripped out all the steam locos, the Euro and US assets. I also own 2-3 third-party non-Steam packs that I've yet to install (the Voyager Advanced, Class 153 Advanced, Class 40 and the Class 20 from JT) and a couple of sound and light packs from AP but I want to bed in my clean game first before adding these. I hope this helps - and thank you. :)
If you have L-B and the 66 Powerhaul you probably would be able to run my activity and my upcoming ones.. That said, only two of my upcoming 10 pack for GEML are for the 90/DVT.

I'm the same. I love activities with little details, extra scenery, TSR's, chasing yellows etc. So where possible I try to put them in my own activities.. One i'm currently working on is a 1 hour 40minute 86 double headed freight run at night (sortof sequel to the one I already have on UKTS, it's the same 86's and night, as in real life). The train often arrives 30 mins early at Stratford but I have sortof taken the best and worse from different weeks it has run and added in late running trains, a TSR/diversion and RHTT's. All real timetabled services.. I much prefer this to my first version which was pretty much 75mph all the way from Ipswich to Stratford. Sure that's realistic on some weeks but in TS there is little or next to no challenge, I like having to pay attention and adjust. It's so immersive facing the slower section of the activity between Shenfield and Stratford where your 75mph running is broken by chasing yellows, downhill.. even I who know the ins and outs sometimes get caught by reds and not braking in time because I wasn't paying attention.

:P Went off on one there but I think it says it all when it comes to interesting but realistic activities.. Especially compared to quickdrive.

I'm relatively new to using RWtools. How do I swap out rolling stock that I don't have for ones that I do have?
