Aah, that would explain it, pity the English manual doesn't reflect this. :-?

The mix up wouldn't be obvious unless you were using an English keyboard. Edit: a scenario has already appeared on railsim.de, also free scenarios will follow from VR at a later date. By the way has anybody noticed that you can cycle through 6 camera positions in train using the arrow keys.

It's 7 position ^^ Yes, i am always trying to implement the newest and also some "hidden" possibilities into our EL trainsets. Camera positions are not a secret. Take a look into the cab camera bp in the timeline section.

The English Manual Does reflect this. But you have to read it :)
Page 6 Section 4.2 Start-Up Procedure
After the section telling you how to do a Manual Start-Up is the Automatic Start-Up.

I bought the TEE pack and notice it come with two slightly different locos.
The fixed number loco is 103 176-4 with the earlier DB logo and the Dynamic Number loco has the later DBAG logo.

Lovely loco. :)

What just happens to me sometimes is that the short horn is not properly loaded or something and it does not work, especially when loading a second BR103 scenario in a row. Reloading TS helps in most cases but not all.

Is it just me?

I have never heard the "Short Horn" - I just get a whistle when I press B.
I'm running the TEE/DB liveried loco - maybe it only has a Whistle? I will try the TEE/DBAG liveried loco.

She has a long looped whistle and a short fixed sound whistle. The short one sometimes get lost. That is maybe a bug in the TS201x core and occours from time to time on some routes eg. Munich-Augsburg, Berlin-Wittenberg and sometimes on Hamburg-Hannover. Also affected is the FML sound but not that often as the whistle sound. I don't have a solution for that. Searched many times for one but there is not pattern. It has nothing to do with the priority settings within the sound proxy sound section.

Undestand, Maik, there are many things like that, the developer of the Taurus pack was complaining many many times to me about the fact that most of the time he's just trying to workaround TS bugs. No matter, your loco is excellent anyway.

However I may have found a workaround for this: instead of loading the scenario directly, load it via scenario editor, change something, then change it back (the weather for example) so that the editor will prompt you to save the scenario when you play it from within the editor. There are no sound problems then. It may be just a coincidence, but I tried it several times and it seems to work...

Another solution idea is to put in the same sound twice, with different filenames and differendt samplesettings and then load both of them and on fire up the whistle prevent one from playing with the instance groups. But that means another time wasting only for a bug workaround :-?

Yes, Maik, that's what the HRQ said exactly - workarounds, workarounds, workarounds...very frustrating. I just discovered my workaround above - although it "works" - it is unusable as when you try to start a scenario through the scenario editor, you are unable to start the loco using manual procedure, only automatic. To be precise: you are able to start it, but the main regulator does nothing in the end. I first thought it was me doing something wrong, but not really... :(

Lufter sounds have never failed for me (yet!), so I think I will live without the short horn for now. If there would be a chance to apply the workaround you mention in your post, Mike, it would be great...in some future update...

On the contrary I have to say again that driving this loco is a pleasure...

I totally agree, a great loco to drive.
It's a bit like driving the Class 86 where you have to watch your amps as you accelerate rather than driving the DB 101 which most of the time is open the power handle and go.

The roar of the fans and the Electric brake sounds are really quite good and it gives the feel of the real locos.

Well done vR.

The problem on that short horn was the not working instance group. It was set to 1 and reject new, but sometimes it rejects also the first one. Seems another new bug in TS2013/4.
